On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Tidal...
John Mayall Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton. prompted by Tony above, in mono
The type of album which requires more plays...
A great album...
Ive Mendes - Magnetism
A friend played me this album at the weekend. I'd never heard of Scott Matthews before. This is nice, albeit somewhat melancholy in style.
Now Playing.......
Lyle Lovett - Natural Forces......... continuing on with another album from Lyle this afternoon, and he is sounding mighty fine!

Inspired by posts from Ewemon and Seakayaker earlier today, I'm giving one of my favourite Lyle Lovett albums a spin - Joshua Judges Ruth.
Certainly 'Joshua Judges Ruth' right there at the top of my favorite Lyle Lovett albums. One fantastic album!
Starting the day streaming some of his early back-catalogue, this great self-titled album, AKA Hallelujah I Love Her So

I am confused, the cover says Florestan and you say it’s played by the Eggner Trio....
Hoff Ensemble Quiet winter nights
Nice relaxing jazz.
Mathias Eick, trumpet
Børge Petersen-Øverleir, guitar
Annbjørg Lien, nyckelharpa and hardanger fiddle
Jan Gunnar Hoff, piano
Arild Andersen, double bass
Rune Arnesen, percussion
Another artist whose back-catalogue I'm enjoying exploring, via recommendations from allmusic.com, a nice site to explore reviews and to fish out the better albums to try out.
Paul Simon. Eponymous solo debut (1972) on re-issued vinyl from 2014. A brilliant album, I hold it second in Simon's discography only to Graceland, which I consider a landmark album.
Crosby, Stills & Nash. On original vinyl from 1977 (with the boys looking serious). Inspired from the 'vinyl reissues' thread.
Silverchair. Frogstomp. On original CD from 1995. These precocious Aussies were 15-years-old when they recorded this brilliant grunge album. Quite amazing. I can't help but be reminded of the current American rock band Greta Van Street for their similar youth and potential.
Playing on Compact Disc on Naxos - Really nice Bach guitar
Playing on Cassette on TDK AR C60 - Fabulous 2nd album Aventine from Denmark's finest Agnes Obel - A masterpiece of atmosphere and haunting lyrics.I saw her on that tour but unfortunatley had'nt heard any of her music as some friends had a spare ticket .I enjoyed the concert but it's hard when you don't know the songs. Here is a picture from that concert she played in a church in Brighton in 2014
Rick Wakeman - Piano Portraits.
