On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
All in all a good album from
Cécile McLorin Salvant
, with also some unbearable music as well...
Not his best, but enjoyable nevertheless......
(2013)
Les Revenants
So, there I was heading for something by Morcheeba in the old virtual library when I tripped over Mogwai on the way. Lovely soundtrack music to a fine French TV series by Glasgow's finest post rock band. I've always luved this band to bits and their soundtrack 'stuff' is usually a little different to their studio releases. This one ticks all the boxes it's haunting...
Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak, most probably my favourite Lizzy album.
(1969)
In The Court Of The Crimson King
This one was an absolute classic and centrepiece of my (small) collection as a teen, what a ground-breaking album it was. I still love to get it out and play it few times a year. This particular copy was ripped from a 1987 Toshiba 'Black Triangle' CD which does sound really lovely.
Peter Bernstein, Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart - Live at Smalls
- Drums – Bill Stewart
- Guitar – Peter Bernstein
- Organ [Hammond B3] – Larry Goldings
The Who - Face Dances, wow, forgot I even owned this
Billy Joel
An Innocent Man - CD Rip
Edward
Cara is sounding particularly delightful this evening.
(1987)
This is a really fine compilation of some of the Kinks finest. Great stuff, great musical days...
Tracklist
Melody Gardot - Currency Of Man
Belter!
Baxter Dury - Prince of Tears
Original vinyl released 1970 - Fab album. ????
The Derek Trucks Band - Soul Serenade, this was my first introduction to the slide genius.I think I prefer this band to the aggregation with his missus.
Cara Dillion sounding rather nice up here as well.
First, José González - Veneer
Now, I Am Kloot - Sky At Night
The latter chosen in repsonse to receiving a pic from a friend, with the same caption.
David Gray
Live at the iTunes Festival - Tidal HiFi
Great singer, brilliant voice.
Edward
Enjoyed the first course some much I thought I would go back for some more.
Dusty Springfield - Reputation
(1990)
Why? Because this dame was just a fantastic person with a voice to die for, I still miss her so much.

Easily done! I’m a great Who fan, but this was not their finest hour????
