Streaming on NAS............. setting the weekend mood this morning with Ron & Jakob! Bay of Rainbows a new release from October 5th and looking forward to listen to the trio on Saturday night!
Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset.
Nothing very novel or intriguing about this selection, on an alternately sunny / grim North Yorks. afternoon ........... just a great album.
Playing on Compact Disc - Having a Rockin' Friday office afternoon...counting down the hours to the weekend.
McCoy Tyner - Expansions
Recorded in 1968.
- Alto Saxophone, Flute – Gary Bartz
- Bass – Herbie Lewis
- Cello – Ron Carter
- Drums – Freddie Waits
- Piano – McCoy Tyner
- Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet – Wayne Shorter
- Trumpet – Woody Shaw
Vinyl released today - Croz getting better with age, accompanied with much younger musicians – Becca Stevens, Michelle Willis, Michael League and Bill Laurance makes this a wonderful listen. There’s a superb rendition of Joni Mitchell’s Woodstock to boot. Recommended ????
John Hiatt - "The Eclipse Sessions" (2018) lts John, nothing else to say really.

Shpongle - Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland
Some rocked up psychedelic ambient, dance and trance by Simon Posford and Raja Ram's rather wonderful Shpongle project. These 'old boys' kicked off in '98 and are still going strong, good stuff that I love to dig into every now and again.
Is it just me or does this sound like Hawkwind's Master of The Universe?
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit -- "Live From The Ryman" (2018)
1st run for me....
Louis Hayes - Una Max
This is an excellent album by Louis Hayes and his sextet. The whole band is in fine form. Kenny Barron plays the piano on this album, which is always a good thing imo. Recorded in 1989.
- Alto Saxophone – Gerald Hayes
- Bass – Clint Houston
- Drums – Louis Hayes
- Piano – Kenny Barron
- Tenor Saxophone – John Stubblefield
- Trumpet – Charles Tolliver
(1967)
A Whiter Shade of Pale
Fancying a bit of Procol Harum this evening I plumped for this nice sounding original mono ripped from a 1988 French Cube label CD.
Villagers - "The Art of Pretending To Swim" (2018) Conor 0'Brien doing his thing, which he does very well.
Cd released today just started to listen and its sounding great. 8)
Joshua Redman - Wish
with Pat Metheny (g), Charlie Haden (b), Billy Higgins (d).
Easy going jazz.

Ommadawn
I was never particularly smitten with Mike's early mega hit albums but Ommadawn did resonate with me, this one has a couple of remixes to the title track that I enjoy so it's coming out for a rare play.
Mr. Twin Sister - "Salt" (2018) pop, thats it, pop

Bert, I would be interested to know what your thoughts are on the Steven Wilson remaster and SQ of this iconic KC album?
Willy Porter - How To Rob A Bank
I like this.
Playing on Vinyl on Chess Records - Really nice blues from Elmore James and John Brim
