On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now playing..........
Ketil Bjornstad - The Light
Ketil Bjørnstad (piano), Randi Stene (mezzo-soprano) and Lars Anders Tomter (viola).
Streaming on NAS........ arrived in the mail and now taking out for a spin. I have played this on TIDAL previously and enjoyed the album quite a bit. Randi is a fantastic vocalist with Ketil and Lars providing perfect accompaniment! A great album to kick off the evening while waiting the arrival of the trick or treaters........
Now Playing.........
Wolfgang Muthspiel - Rising Grace
Wolfgang Muthspiel (guitar), Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet), Brad Mehldau (piano), Larry Grenadier (double bass) and Brian Blade (drums).
Streaming on NAS...... A fantastic quintet and it is one fantastic album, solid contributions and fine interplay between the musicians and is quickly becoming one of my favorites! (.....to many favorites, not enough time) .......and they are sounding might sweet this evening!
Streaming on Tidal, this sounds like it's recorded at a relatively higher volume than many albums. Not sure if dynamic range suffers as a result, but it sounds pretty good to my ears.
In The Dark. More exploring of old favourites' back-catalogues on streaming, awesome stuff

Ms Jones rarely disappoints.
I have this and all of Norah's LP's on Ananlogue Productions vinyl remasters apart from Come Away with Me which is very pricey now and of all of the Analogue Productions I own they are all amongst the very best. If money is of no issue and you are a fan there is an AP boxset I believe.

A vinyl copy of this just went for £175 on that well known site I did bid for it until I started getting palpations unfortunately to rich for me.

Probably my favourite Bonnie Raitt album, especially enhanced by the Little Feat contributions.

Would probably go along with that as well.
MOFI vinyl released 1979 - Great album to start today off. ????
Starting my Verdi Requiem journey.
This is a 1991 recording of Abbado/Vienna Phil.
Soundgarden > Superunknown (NAS 24/192)
On CD:-
Norah Jones - Day Breaks
Very nice album, with highlights...
Playing on Compact Disc - Really lovely Vivaldi Cello Concerto's to start the Thursday working day
Working day? All Saints Day is a paid holiday over here .
Anouar Brahem Trio - Astrakan café
With elevenses.
Paul McCartney - Band on the Run, original vinyl. Whilst out running this morning in the pouring rain a line from the song Mamunia was going through my mind, "You've never felt the rain my friend until you've felt it running down your back". It wasn't a particularly enjoyable run.
Playing on Compact Disc - Great debut album Blunderuss by Jack White of the fabulous White Stripes
It’s always good to see some Jack White. There can sometimes be too much Norah Jones.
Pat Metheny Group - Travels, original vinyl. Currently listening to the mighty 'As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls'. Magnificent!
