She is the niece of the Human Resources person who supports my team at work, Her aunt sent me a link to her on YouTube a couple of weeks ago, I liked it enough to download that album. I really like it, classy trad folk, good songs, sung with feeling, I’ll be interested to hear what you think.
l enjoyed the first listen very much. Will definitely be listening more.
re: Will Hoge - My favorite of the ones l have heard is "The Wreckage".
Good listening, Jeff A
Thanks Jeff, I love that song, so I’ll pick up The Wreckage, I suspect I’ll end up with a lot of Will Hoge, haven’t heard anything from him yet that isn’t excellent.
On CD:-
Rosanne Cash - The List
Manfred Mann’s Earth Band - Best of - Tidal
Off to see Georgie Fame and the Manfreds tonight (Paul Jones, Mike d’Abo, Mike Hugg, Tom McGuinness), so a refresher. They did record some great songs, I suspect tonight will be more of the chart rock numbers than the R&B, but looking forward to it, two fine vocalist, top guitarist, should be a blast.
Playing on Vinyl - Brilliant Black Uhuru album from 1981
(1967 | 2017)
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Because I think this latest makeover of the album on it's 50th anniversary is fantastic. Dynamic, punchy and engaging, luv it

Black Uhuru had a peroid from the late 70's until the early 80's when they were as good a band as any of any genre at that time driven by the incomparable Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare.......
C'mon Arsenal great first half.
Beth Orton - Trailer Park
An album that has the capacity to make this listener feel 22 again!
Wagner - Die Walküre recorded at the ROH last month currently being broadcast on BBC Radio 3 FM. Antonio Pappano conducting.
The Doors
(1967 )
Staying in the sixties with another very fine mono remaster on it's 50th anniversary.
After a great afternoon at the football, time to relax with a little drop of Hibiki Harmony and this CD. Actually it's not that relaxing - it's fierce, high energy stuff from drummer Moholo-Moholo, pianist Alexander Hawkins, saxophonists Shabaka Hutchings and Jason Yarde, John Edwards on bass.
Recorded at Café Oto in London on 14th April 2017. Amazing stuff.
Now playing........
Andrew Cyrille - Lebroba
Andrew Cyrille (drums), Wadada Leo Smith (trumpet) and Bill Frisell (guitar).
Streaming on TIDAL......... A new release (November 2nd) and taking out for a spin! The trio is sounding mighty sweet and will be ordering this CD.......
With all the noisy fireworks outside I thought I'd take the opportunity to play this album at a volume level that it deserves. The first time I heard this I was wowed. It has remained one of my favourite albums ever since.
Tom Adams - A Start On Such A Night Is Full Of Promise
Mystical, mesmerising, moody, majestic, moving.....
.....or not. This one is likely to divide opinion.
Great compilation of jazzy, soul-ly, moddy, funky stuff. On CD:

For a moment there I thought that was Dr Strangelove on sax.
Flooding the house with music to try and save the poor wee pup from freaking out to the firework noises.
After a bit of Sabbath, well, something of similar oomph was a must. Evenescence comfortably fits the bill.
(1990)
Pungent Effulgent
Happily the pooch seems to be in total agreement that this one from the Ozrics fits the bill...
