Natalie Merchant - Motherland
Streaming on NAS........... Kicking off this Monday morning with Natalie........
only 'discovered' this lady when I happened on one of her CDs - "Ophelia" - in ripped collection that I didn't recall ever playing /as I said I actually enjoyed this, so may be tempted to try more...?
enjoy/ken
Ken, her "Tigerlily" album is recommended.
I haven't played any Genesis for a while. I normally go for the older classic albums but this evening thought I'd go with We Can't Dance. Very 'Collins-orientated', of course, but them I like his solo albums too.

Enjoying a bit of 'Country' from Chely Wright.
don't know this (I gather Irish?) lady -- but I might give this a try with my next bank balance depleting CD order...

American, Ken. I only discovered her through this thread and the CD was pretty cheap.
Mike
One of my favourite Chely albums this one was released in 1997 I also like her Single White Female and Lifted Off The Ground albums but she has made quite a few more yet to purchase one that I do not like?

Cheers, Alan. Think I'll get that. I haven't got any of her albums.

Ken, you may want to check out her original band, 10,000 Maniacs, if you don’t know them. In My Tribe is particularly good.
Nigel, many thanks...!

Ken you may enjoy checking out a short video released in the NPR Tiny Desk series from January 2016.
Anyway the NPR Tiny Desk video can be found here.
If you listen to some of the 10,000 Maniac albums as suggested by HH and her other solo releases from over the years I think you will find her music enjoyable across time.
And one for you, Seakayaker. And any other jazz lovers of course. This is a superb album.
(2001)
Classic Glenn Frey
The late great Glenn Frey doing his solo stuff really well, you can hear the Eagles sound around every corner in just the same way as you can with the Don Henley solo albums. RIP Glenn, you were taken from us way to soon.
Playing on Compact Disc - Going all spiritual blues with this lovely album by The Blind Boys of Alabama
"If you listen to some of the 10,000 Maniac albums as suggested by HH and her other solo releases from over the years I think you will find her music enjoyable across time."
I would echo the 10,000 Maniacs recommendations - I saw them live in the 1990s and they were excellent. I've lost touch a little bit with Natalie's solo career, but intend to rectify that quite soon.
Rory Gallagher - Tattoo.
Latest one from Rory to arrive, now ripped and streaming ................. and they just keep getting better!

Just fyi I think the only way to get her latest cd is to buy this box set.
Murray Perahia, Bach English Suites 1,3,6 - WAV CD rip
Complex sophisticated piano music of real beauty, played with flair and rhythmic drive by Perahia, lovely album.
Santana - IV, didn't really expect this to live up to the hype of it being the missing link between III and Caravanserai.Giving it another spin after feeling lukewarm the first couple of plays, really enjoying the instrumental "Fillmore East".
Seeing Chely earlier just had to play this album superb music.
Ariana Grande - Sweetener
This girl can belt out a tune. There are a number of great tracks on this one and lots of variation.

Thanks Seakayaker!
