On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Now playing..........
Natalie Merchant - Paradise is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings
Streaming on NAS........... started the day with Natalie and thought I would continue on with her this evening. Just arrived home from work and she is the first album after arriving home from work........ and she is sounding mighty sweet! Twenty years after the original album release, now "re-recorded, re-arranged, and re-visioned" and for this fan, I love them both!

Elton John - Blue Moves, must admit ,don't always play the full double album ,but choosing four of five tracks from each disc makes for a decent 40 minutes or so.
You are right. M ore than 40 min listening one artist is a bit to much for me. There are a few exceptions.
hungryhalibut posted:And one for you, Seakayaker. And any other jazz lovers of course. This is a superb album.
Thanks HH, I did a search on TIDAL but could not find the album. I will have a look around my local used music stores in the neighborhood to see if I can pick up a copy........

Amy Winehouse - Frank.
Have a very big soft spot for this young lady she opened up her heart to us all and was treated despicably mostly by the press of course but also by some of the general public. There are many musicians who left us way too early but the loss of Amy always makes me feel really, really sad and angry as it seems so unecessary given the right shoulder to cry on she could still be with us.

A great musician Enrico Pieranunzi also collaborated with Charlie Haden, Chet Baker and Billy Higgins on the exceptional 1989 LP Silence and made the very beautiful Soft Journey in 1980 with Chet both of which are on my vinyl wish list but command silly money now.
Kansas. Point Of Know Return. On original vinyl from 1977. I recently watched a TV program chronicling the band's success and it put me in a mood to play this album, their most successful. While good, I prefer it's predecessor, the very good "Leftoverature".
Fine Brahms playing

It's like meeting an old friend you haven't seen for many years; still recognisable, but a few lines and grey hairs. Sadly, it doesn't contain the same versions as were on the New York Tapes album which has been around before (and can still be found on YouTube) , which probably means I'm going to have to buy the 6CD box set, and I'm not a Dylan fan. It's just that Blood on the Tracks is something rather special, and something for which I have fond memories.

I'm really not a Dylan fan, but thought I'd continue with this one, Time Out of Mind.
I wonder what percentage of an artist's output you need to have to be considered a fan? How many times do you need to have seen the artist?
Playing on Compact Disc - Pulp Fiction Soundtrack with the artists featured on the back Cover
