On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Original vinyl released 1988 - Great stuff from the great David Lindley & Co. ????
Following an earlier recommendation. Very good it is too.
Vince Gill - Guitar Slinger, WAV CD rip
Originally playing on the Qbs upstairs while ironing, now finishing off on the main system downstairs. Very classy guitar playing and country songs, fine album, thanks Ewemon for the recommendation.
Jimi Hendrix - Blues.
I make no apologies whatsoever for posting this yet again, since it is an absolute, as we say here, belter.
Jimi does the blooze, .............. 'nuff said.
It's on Tidal, ...................... so go on, knock yourself out.
Miles Davis - Sorcerer
- Bass – Ron Carter
- Drums – Tony Williams
- Piano – Herbie Hancock
- Tenor Saxophone – Wayne Shorter
- Trumpet – Miles Davis
1967 - Cream / Disraeli Gears (UK first stereo pressing)...
I have 2 stereo copies of this album but always end up listening to a third copy in mono because it sounds livelier but it’s time to give it a break.

Superb album and fantastic line up, Mr J. Enjoy it!

Why? Sort of follows on from the last one...

Will Hoge - The Wreckage, UK vinyl
My second Will Hoge album, another great piece of country/Americana, nice traveloguenfeel. Thanks Jeff for the recommendation.
This is wonderful. New songs old song and a couple of covers, sung with incredible directness and vulnerability. Violin from Warren Ellis of the Bad Seeds, and backing vocals from Nick Cave himself, who also wrote one of the songs. Buy it!
(2016)
Blackstar
Bowies final album has grown on me month by month to the point where it is now one of my favourites of his.
Bob Dylan - More Blood More Tracks, vinyl
Another spin, fascinating to hear these versions of songs I know so well. Do I get the deluxe set?
CD boxset released 2014 - Playin' disc 2 great stuff. ????
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland.
How to follow my previous selection? ^^^^^^
Why,............. more Jimi, of course ..................... and this 2012 remaster really hits the spot .............. erm, quite LOUD!

If you like this one then you need to listen to more of his stuff. He has put out a lot of good albums.
1969 - Uk First pressing....
After a number of recommendations of this album on this forum from the likes of Nigelb and Ewemon (and others) I have listened to a few tracks from it and really like it. I will be definitely ordering the CD. Also listened to a few tracks from his other albums and they all sound good. He reminds me a bit of The Drive By Truckers and Jason Isbell.
Wife gone for a bath. 2nd episode of Coronation Street thankfully finished. TV now switched off and listening to Joe
Brahms for the afternoon, gets a special flavor after five hour work in the cold yard:

Will do, My American Dream has been a near fixture on the turntable since I bought it after you said how great it was, I see a bulk order of a chunk of his back catalogue hue in my near future, thanks again for the original intro.
