1970 - UK first pressing...
Revisiting an old friend...
Hi Tony hope all is well with you mate,
Seeing your first pressing of LZ 3 brought a smile as it was the first LZ album I heard as a 8 year old it was my sisters copy and every Saturday my parents and I would visit her and her boyfriend in Kingston on Thames. They had a good 200 albums and I got into Floyd as they had a copy of Meddle. But the big one was LZ 3.OMG never heard anything like Immigrant Song.Loved the album and borrowed their first pressing and 46 years later still haven't returned it..ha ha !
Have another copy of it but the first pressing just seems louder, clearer.
Wishing you a Rockin' weekend....I am going to The Windsor Show Sunday.....Loads of Audiophile very well recorded anemic music to listen too I can imagine...it always is
You've got a cool sister, Ian.
Mike
A friend played me some songs from this album earlier this week. A Bluesy rock band from Iceland. I ordered it as soon as i got home. Wow! This is visceral stuff. I can highly recommend it.
For Ian & Dave. My original copies. Great weekend guys.
Do all Led Zep fans have disco lights in their listening rooms?
Rock on!

Flippin' hec, Mike, listening to this now on Tidal and it is a belter.
Didn't know they did the rockin' blues in Iceland!
Great shout, thanks.

LOL. No, Mike, it is just a family member who's warming up to Xmas with a 30cm magic tree.

My friend said he's seen some of the band perform live while on holiday in Iceland. I think this is their only album to date but they could have a promising career.

They really are very good IMHO. Still listening and just over half way through and have already picked up a copy from the river for just over a fiver - can't be bad!
So far, no duff track, no fillers, just great music.
Don't you just love the Music Room.

Definitely, Nigel. My musical tastes have expanded enormously because of the Music Room and everyone's willingness to share. Keeping Amazon very happy!

Stevie Wonder - Definitive Collection
A trip through some of Mr. Wonder's finest tracks, sticking with CD one of two for the moment.
A while back I was lamenting that Tasmin Archer didn't seem to have done anything after Great Expectations. I was corrected, by ewemon IIRC, so I searched.

Trouble is, there is so much music posted on here, gems like Kaleo can pass you by, so always good to add a recommendation to those that are highly rated. That is why I always re-post those that I believe could get missed, and I hope that is not too annoying.
Prompted by Tony2011's posting of this a bit earlier. An old favourite.
Faithless - Forever Faithless
An excuse to get my disco lights out of the loft.
The Beatles, playing the Esher Demos from the box set ,delivered today.
(1998)
Peter Green Splinter Group - The Robert Johnson Songbook
With lovely recording and sound quality this is a great homage to the great bluesman's classic music, Peter Green, as ever plays it just beautifully.
So far tonight;
The Sisters Of Mercy, Fist and Last and Always.
The Mission, Sum and Substance.
Bat For Lashes, Two Suns
Faithless, Sunday 8PM.
Not sure what to go for next!
Running in a new headphone cable with this fine album. I'd had this in my collection for a while and had neglected to play it until a few posts on here recently prompted me to give it a proper listen.
What a superb album it turned out to be. Voice, songs and a lovely recording have made this a firm favourite.
Ray Lamontage - Till the sun turns black
Another Chet Baker LP recorded in 1985
Chet Baker (t) (voc), Martha Burks (voc), Floyd Darling (p), Kirby Stewart (b), Fred Raulston (vib), Paul Guerrero (d)
