Playing on Compact Disc - Great stuff from The Cult on their 2nd album from 1984 - Spiritwalker is particularly fine. The following album is even better IMHO
Dexter Gordon - Our Man in Paris
Straight bebop from Dexter Gordon. It is far from simplistic in any way. Some great playing and a stunning recording (mine is pre-RVG remaster). Great drum and cymbal recorded sound. Furthermore, I can hear Bud Powell was like Keith Jarrett in his singalong style although it's not quite so intrusive.
Now playing.................
Wayne Shorter - Ju Ju
Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone), McCoy Tyner (piano), Reggie Workman (bass) and Elvin Jones (drums).
Streaming on NAS.......... a recent pick up and taking out for a spin for the first time this morning........

MDS posted:Only my second listen to this album. It's pretty clear to me that Natalie Merchant is another artist I've discovered via this thread that I'm to very much like.
Natalie's debut solo album and probably my favourite. I still prefer it to the recent reworked version. I've been lucky enough to see her several times in the UK and I have a huge crush on her. Despite me being married for 42 years, my wife accepts that if Natalie comes calling, I'm off (bag already packed just in case!)
..............
Mark Knopfler - One Take Radio Sessions
Streaming on NAS.......... a recent purchase from Fat Cat Records and taking out for a spin, one fine album short album, nothing new but eight solid songs delivered by Mark!
Playing on Cassette on Maxell UL C60 - Always good hearing these nuggets ......Move over Rover and let Jimi takeover...you know what I'm talking about
Original Vinyl
Playing on Compact Disc - A classic album of Psychedelia and light orchestration
