On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
(1966)
I always preferred the British version of this compilation 'Paint it Black' being one of my all time 'Stones favourites.
Vinyl released 1981 - Lovely and understated. ????
Jackie McLean/Great Jazz Trio - New Wine in Old Bottles. East Wind, from 1978. CD-rip
Jackie McLean - alto saxophone
Fazil Say brings tremendous sonority, aided by generous pedalling, to Debussy’s and Satie’s most famous works. He remains one of today’s most interesting pianists, and is as interventionist as ever, but also a master storyteller. A great disc, even if you think you know these works well. Sound quality is perfect.
Cheers
EJ
Cat Stevens
Tea for the Tillerman - 24/192

I love the album, especially the fantastic Yeats setting Slouching towards Bethlehem, one of my favourite musicians honouring one of my favourite poets. (1991 release Imthink.)
Confessin’ the Blues compilation CD 2, WAV CD rip
1st listen to the second disc of this selection of the best of early blues, and it’s as good as the first. These guys could make a simple blues line on guitar or harp sound like joy or pain while being totally musical, my toes are tapping, fingers clicking. Great intro to the origins of the blues, and a great collected set for people who have most/all of them already. Fantastic job of selection by the strolling bones.

Yesterday Is Dead - Guillemots (from ‘Walk The River’)
This album moves me. Somehow, from fairly banal antecedents, Guillemots produced a thing of great depth and beauty. Noise and loveliness - a rare and hugely recommended combination.
Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Bohren for beginners album. Discovered these guys courtesy of Radio Paradise, German slow ‘doom’ jazz, great stuff though and brilliantly recorded and produced. Worth a listen, streaming on Tidal.
Now Playing.........
Mark Knopfler - Down The Road Wherever (one Track off new album to be released 11/16) and.......
Mark Knopfler - Golden Heart
Streaming on TIDAL....... going with the mention from EWEMON and playing the pre-released track from Mark newest album and following up with his first album release (non-soundtrack) and Mark is sounding mighty fine!
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
What a voice!
Doll by Doll - Doll by Doll - Original U.K. vinyl.
Fantastic folky rock from the much missed Jackie Leven and his band. Some super pop/rock/folk songs, including the stunningly beautiful Main Travelled Roads, wonderfully played and sung. Picture taken to give some visual support to the where do you put your LP12 lid? thread, although that is a battered TMS lid.
Van Morrison - Keep Me Singing.
Now playing..........
Mark Knopfler - The Ragpicker's Dream
Streaming on NAS.......... walking in the door from work, the first album to spin up is another of Mark's fantastic albums, 'The Ragpicker's Dream', one of my favorites!
Found this in the parents attic. Quick clean on the Project RCM and Wowsers! Very nice.
Well captured live recording with some of their best songs like Sailing On and Afro Blue.
