On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

I can't even begin to imagine when I last played this, spotted it in the virtual library while browsing, giving it a whirl.
Just a couple of tracks in and I'm blown away by the the quality of the recording, a quick look at the Dynamic range and it's knocking on the door of 16. The old choons aren't too bad either
At the weekend the BBC repeated a program about Agnetha Fältskog post ABBA and said that this album was caught up the their sudden breakup in 1982. In my opinion it is their most mature album getting away from their usual style. Some of the vocals still give me goosebumps! I have the vinyl bought last year from Oxfam.

Streaming on TIDAL....... Following up the Nightfall album and playing the first ECM Quercus album released. Very lovely trio, great interplay between June and the two musicians.

Only a couple of tracks in and I can tell this one is right up my street. My first listen to Yellowjackets and I am impressed.
Nice one Jeroen.
Nigel, the Yellowajackets have been around since '81, I picked up a couple of there albums in the early 90's, I have always enjoyed them. There latest album "Cohearence" released in 2016.
History of the group can be found here: http://www.yellowjackets.com/b...ellowjackets-history
Now Playing......
William Bell - This Is Where I Live
Streaming on TIDAL...... Picking up the pace a bit with the great voice and music from Mr. Bell!
Counting Crows. Hard Candy. On CD from 2002. When a band issues as stupendous a debut album as did the Counting Crows (August And Everything After) everything after can unfortunately be a let down. Ergo my original thoughts on this - a subpar effort. Given time and perspective (and perhaps my mood tonight) I find this, their fourth album, worthy and something I'll give future spins to.

Mine too, funnily enough, it was the album I was going to play last night but ended up slotting on Deuce!
Lucy Rose Something’s Changing.
Friends met this lady while on holiday in the Indian Ocean. She said she was a singer songwriter and had supported Passenger. So, bought it blind and it’s really good. Slight hint of country/folk with the odd pop track.

Field Music - Open Here
A cracking album, from one of UK's most innovative bands, who surely deserve much more recognition. IMHO.
The band were in fine form last night at their, Rough Trade East in-store performance. If you're in the area, catch them at Rough Trade Bristol tonight. I'm looking forward to the Barbican gig, with added Brass & Strings.
On CD:-
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow
Now Playing.....
ABBA - The Visitors
Streaming on TIDAL...... A mention from STEVEE_S the other day had me place this in the TIDAL Queue, I have not listened to an ABBA album in quite a while and thought it would be nice to drop back in time........
Ralph Towner and John Abercrombie - Five Years Later
Released in 1982. An Oxfam find thirty six years later.
(1969 | 2017)
Procol Harum - A Salty Sea Dog
A great old classic to start off the week.
(2000)
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
There is something about the way Maynard J. Keenan (and his various other projects, Tool & Puscifer etc.) go about the business of rock, neo prog and metal that really resonates with me.
Listening to this one again - Just gorgeous !
