On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Vinyl released 2018 - just arrived and getting the first play excellent album so far. ????
Played some of this last night - relaxing !
Playing on Compact Disc - Great Steve Miller from 1982
Kiki Dee - Loving and Free, a lovely album from '73 when Elton John took her under his wing.Featuring some well chosen covers ,a couple of John/Taupin compositions and self penned tunes.Fantastic voice that deserves more than just "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" as a footnote.
Led Zeppelin - The Last Show - Berlin 07.07.80.
I'd somehow never got round to ripping most of the the Zep bootlegs in my collection, but have bitten the bullet this morning, and so
far, it's going quite well, with only a couple of albums requiring me to edit the metadata.
Sound quality is obviously not always the best, but ho hum, it's part of musical history ............. rock on!

I had a huge amount of boots, some I lost through HDD crashes and I also deleted a lot because I couldn't listen to some of the bad quailty recordings. Mind you I still have a reasonable number left in my collection.
Playing on Compact Disc - Still sounds magic all these years since

Mojo & Trojan Present Reggae Nuggets.
Finally completed the ripping of all my Led Zep bootlegs, phew.
Must be feeling particularly masochistic today, as I'm now working through all those Mojo monthly CD's which just seem to end up
in a box for another day.
Some rare gems on this one.

Playing on Compact Disc - Lovely debut from The Fleetfoxes from 2008
From the 8-CD Problem Child live set, disc seven (Hell Ain't a Bad Place), which was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon on 2nd November 1979. I was there! And I touched Angus' satchel! Yay!

- Guitar, Synthesizer – Chuck Loeb
- Keyboards – Bob James
Playing on Compact Disc - Some live Eric from 1979 to get the last couple of hours work done too

1975 - US double vinyl reissue of the exceedingly good 1958 album. The Tape Project was selling R2Rs mastered copies of the original for $450.00 a pop. I wonder what the original sounds like.

I have all the Fourplay albums; best/favourite for me is their debut album 'Fourplay' released in 1991 with Bob James on keyboards, Lee Ritenour guitar, Nathan East bass & Harvey Mason on drums.
2nd my list is 'Elixir' release in 1995, same line up but with guest vocals from Phil Collins, Patti Austin & Peabo Bryson.
Bottom line is they are all good & some interesting differences as different band members changed
John Coltrane - Coltrane's Sound
First play for me of this which I purchased used, have ripped to the NS01 and played once. I was surprised that the piano was slightly distorted, which has caused me to check Plays The Blues, which was recorded at the same sessions. Interestingly that has the same issue which I'd not noticed before - must be down to the more revealing nature of the ND555.
