What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Enghave Barok - Bach BWV 23, 42 and 85
Verve did quite a few of these 'Talkin' compilations in the late nineties and they are all worth a listen.
Couldn't get a better image on the web. It's a limited edition Will Hoge live set entitled On the road with Will Hoge. This is a copy of the second disc as they released 2 sets in the series.
That's my lot for the first part of today as got to wake up the SWMBO and give her breakfast in bed.
The above is a track from his first album. I am just about to start playing his new one.
Earlier... Vinyl reissue originally released 1968.
Now... Vinyl released 2017
Two fine albums to kick Sunday off. ????

Starting my journey of the new remastered albums from Kate Bush.
Half way through Kate’s first album, and the remastering is absolutely brilliant, so far very pleased with my purchase.

Hi Edward
From Qobuz presumably? I was going to order some vinyl remasters but I already have several copies of most of her albums and was put off by the price. I checked Qobuz' pre-release section a few weeks ago and didn't see any of the remasters there so assumed it was physical media only - delighted to see the first wave of release there with Sublime/Sublime+ discounts too.
Did you buy 'the 4 album Pt 1 set' or get this on its own (set is cheaper unlike Pt II) - I'm a little dubious that Qobuz will have proper artwork for each album in the set if other past purchases are anything to go by, so might go for individual albums just to ensure proper artwork and lack of 'Pt I' type stuff in metadata.
Hi Alley Cat
Sorry for the late reply, was with friends yesterday.
I bought the box sets "Remastered part 1" and "Remastered part 2" from Highresaudio, (£38.70 & £34.40).
The album's do not come with their own album covers, i used "mp3tag" to separate and correct the metadata for each album, and "PerfectTunes" to get the correct album covers.

Sadly the wrong side of the sea, in Yorkshire, that looks fascinating. Thanks.

Bill Charlap & Michael Moore - Concord duo series volume nine
Michael Moore (bass) & Bill Charlap (piano)
Yesterday evening last one, a fine modern jazz album...
A bit dissapointing album, it doesn’t build up the tension of a live concert and sounds like a patchwork of songs, not his high point in my eyes...
Another strange recording. The first part is good, however the part I am now in has an audible hiss. And it’s not just that I have a great sensitive streamer...

Thanks Edward - That's a little annoyance with digital media vs physical discs I suppose when they don't bother to provide the correct artwork for each album - probably the music companies rather than the vendors.
Let's give the demo PMCs a test with this very fine-sounding SHM-CD from the widely-praised box set.
Sunday morning !
Released 1998 - A gem album from Mr Lowe ????
Nina Simone - Little girl blue

The "remix" is not as severe as Sgt. Peppers (which we like too) - this is not a ding on the Sgt. Pepper's remix. The sound from the hi-res download is fantastic.
The "Esher" rehearsal sessions are phenomenal and WELL worth hearing;
(I need a translation of "not a ding" please Bart, google doesn't know)
This is a very good remix of a great album. I got the 24/96 WAV Deluxe version (57 tracks). I've kept the full 57 tracks but also split out the original album tracks, I did the same with the Sgt.Pepper Anniversary album.
This White Album is so much more detailed, clear individual voices & instruments with so much better definition & placement, the separation & enhancement of bass, percussion & the random other effects really works; it really is something so much better.
I've had a quick listen to the Esher stuff, problem for me is it will need more time to appreciate it & thats something I don't have at the moment & as big airplane awaits.
