What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
I think it means not to criticise. I believe it’s from the USAian “ding” which is to chip, scratch, knock or otherwise damage, like a chipping dinging the paintwork of your car.

OK, "not to criticise", that makes sense, . I know ding as in ding=dent as brit-slang, but I worked with & in USA for over 30 years & not picked up on that one.

Dawn Landes - Meet Me at the River - WAV bandcamp download
1st listen, sounding good on the kitchen Qb while preparing the evening meal. Bouncy Country, good songs well played and sung, how can you not love a song called That’s Why They Name Whiskey After Men?

Giving this a run through on Tidal at the moment very nice indeed.
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - Immersion edition
I got this in 2013 (marbles and all...) and ripped the blu ray different versions (I think I posted on here about it at the time). On the disc is a video documentary about the 5.1 mix, and in it they say that the SQ is better than the stereo version, so I squashed the 5.1 version down to stereo and this is the version I am listening to now. I also have the other plain stereo versions (1973 original mix and 2011 remaster) and the 5.1 squashed version is much crisper than all of them.
What better for a Sunday afternoon......and the warm feeling from having just listened to England coming from behind to beat Croatia
Playing on Vinyl - Have quite a few versions, but this Archiv version has become a favorite of late.
Now playing..........
Billie Marten - Writing of Blues & Yellows
Streaming on NAS........... Billie's debut full length album released in September of 2016 at the age of 17. Beautiful voice delivering some mellow easy going songs helping to ease into this sunny & cold Sunday morning.........
He is a nice new artist...
Nice music for this time of year, while I prefer Rattles version...
His voice is every now and then at the edge...
Amazing album, while I am not a gospel guy...
Miles Davis - E.S.P.

Boz Scaggs - Out of the Blues
Streaming on NAS......... Enjoying Boz on this Saturday afternoon, ran a few errands in the neighborhood in between albums and returning home thought a spin of his most recent album would be nice......... Boz is sounding mighty sweet!
If you like the Boz album above give this Mike Farris album a listen you might like it. You might need to give it a few listens as it can be a grower for some people.
Ex frontman from The Screamin Wheelie Cheetahs.
IMHO it is a really good album of the genre.
Seakayaker, if you haven't checked out this Mike Farris album recommended by Ewemon, then I suggest you do so. Bit more soulful than Boz but very enjoyable.
A bit like a cross between Boz Scaggs and Marvin Gaye.
Great shout Ewe, as usual.
Listening more to this album, my Bozvin or Marvoz characterisation is wrong and I am sure Mr Farris wouldn't appreciate such pigeonholing. It really is a very good listen though and stands up on its own and needs no comparisons.
This has got some oomph.

Glad you are enjoying it.
24 bit 44.1kHz Remaster from Qobuz.
I must say the whole album seems considerably more enjoyable - there were always some sumptuous stand out tracks, but others often sounded harsh and strained on my original vinyl especially ones like Rocket Tail where there was a lot of wailing from the Trio Bulgarka and Kate.
Is it the remaster, is it the hi res format, perhaps both?
I feel as though this album is going to go up in my estimation by a few notches.
Edit: A minor thing perhaps but I have another copy of this on my NAS and in the Naim app the cover art shows considerably more detail - the digital artwork seems very well levelled with far more detail in the blacks/greys than wherever I got the other artwork from - the separately downloadable Qobuz artwork for these releases is a whopping 4,000 x 4,000 resolution, not sure what size is embedded.
