On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Sound bending acoustics with great phase flexibility and a really attractive mid-range prominence that adds to the drive and grip.
I have the original US vinyl. Impressive as you say both for the SQ and music. My favorite Yes album. The opening track "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" is the most stunning recording I've heard for combination of speed of attack, stereo imaging, and overall tonal balance/clarity. An album that should be on the shortlist of anyone wanting to hear the epitome of vinyl performance, followed by Steve Winwood's "Back In The High Life".
Playing on Cassette on TDK SA - X C90 - Great retrospective JJ Cale - Unreleased and rarieties
Keane - Hopes and Fears
I first worked in City of Manchester Stadium at the Commonwealth Games in 2002. The next time was in the 2004/05 football season. One memory is of seeing giant billboard posters of Carlos Tevez (in a sky blue shirt), and of Keane all over the city. The band seemed to be on the car radio all the time. Great times, good band. I Love their piano-driven style.
(Memory may be playing tricks with the actual Tevez dates but I'm sure you get the general idea).
Rod Stewart - Soul Book, Rod does Motown
Marillion
Clutching at Straws - Live at the Edinburgh Playhouse 1987 - Tidal HiFi
Edward
1971 - US first pressing...
A little battered but one of my favourite jazz and reference albums.
Playing on Compact Disc - The White Stripes final album - Hope we get a reunion in the future
Vinyl released 1970 - Excellent fourth album from the man. 8)
2015 -
Glenn Gould - Bach: toccatas
Playing on Compact - Brilliant dry life obsevational songs by The Eels from 2003
Playing on Cassette on Maxell UL C60 - Rocking out to this Classic slice of Purple from 1971 -
Brad Mehldau - After Bach.
Modern jazz meets Bach in an exceptional way.

A great article/interview with Wayne Shorter in the December Stereophile. "There is no beginning or end, just potential."
Primal Scream - Screamadelica - 2011 remaster. Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't Give Up -
The Original Memphis Recordings.
Something of a Primal Scream afternoon with Bobby and the boys on this cold and overcast North Yorks. day.
The first is an all time classic album, so much better for the 2011 re-mastering, whilst the other, "Give Out But Don't Give Up"
is revealed as it should have been, all along.
If you don't have these in your library, why not?
Mind you, don't take my word for it, as they're both there on Tidal, so have a bash.
Goldfrapp - Black Cherry - CD
Reading the new Naim Audio MD introduction reminded me to play this. Just love all the sound effects that Naim gear is so good at reproducing.

Two great albums......the Memphis sessions if people have not heard them are very special imo.....the recording takes you to the studio in Memphis, warts and all.

Thank you , Jeff.
I have just bought the 2013 remaster as my copy has seen better days. It’s 2X 45rpm 180 grams Audiophile Grade Vinyl(whatever that means) pressed at Pallas Germany and mastered from the original analogue tape by Bernie Grundman. I’ve seen good reviews and it appears to be an excellent pressing. Will see.
Playing on Cassette on TDK AD C90 - Live Yes from 1978 - Nearly all from their Wembely Arena shows of that year
1971 - Uk First pressing....

Did you see the programme on BBC now on the iplayer, re the bands recent trip back to Muscle Shoals after finding the lost tapes - absolutely brilliant . There is a classic moment when Noel Gallagher decribes his first meeting with Bobby Gillespie and the first thing Booby says is what's your favourite Bob Marley B-side.
I am enjoying this BLACK Sabbath album on a cold and misty FRIDAY

Hi Andy,
Yes, a great programme, watched and recorded for posterity, together with the one some years back, about the making of Screamadelica.
Thanks.
August 21st, 2005. Released on Warner Classics
