What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Primal Scream - Xtrmntr (Exterminator).
An afternoon of Bobby and the boys, so, what to play next?
Why, some more Scream, of course .................. what a cracking album this is, the final album on Alan McGee's legendary Creation
Records, it made quite an impression upon it's release in 2000, and as NME put it "rarely has anger been so beautifully managed"
and elsewhere, "war you can dance to".
Certainly up there with their best.
Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell.
I love this album, Mr Dio rocks on this one.
Ray Brown trio - Three Dimensional
Ray Brown - bass; Gene Harris - piano; Jeff Hamilton - drums.
Part of a set of new albums from The Unthanks. This one, song settings of ten poems by Emily Brontë, was recorded in the Parsonage on the piano that Emily once played. Beautiful.
2017 -
Playing on Vinyl on Bronze Records - Blasting off into the weekend with this Live Hawkwind from 1979
(1992)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - Come On Come On
Flicking through the library I realised I haven't played this in quite a while, a lovely voice singing country and Americana with just a touch of folk.
Robert Plant - Dreamland.
One of Percy's first excursions with the Strange Sensation, who largely became his current band, the Sensational Space Shifters.
An album of covers, but given new interpretations as is Planty's way, ................ his version of Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren" has
become the definitive version .............. highly recommended.

My pleasure Phil, enjoyed reading your blog, well done!
Listened to this for the last couple of days in the car, great album, great artists...
2016 - P J Harvey...
Her show on Wednesday night at Café Oto just blew me away, and this album by the trumpet player Jaimie Branch is just superb. Nice recording too. The first album played through my new NAP250 (and NAC72-HiCap)
1970 - US first pressing..
(1994)
Stones in the Road
Another very agreeable album from Mary Chapin Carpenter.

It's about time that you played this again Tony!!
I am rather a fan of Eighties Indie Northern stuff and a few years ago I was introduced to The Sound. After their break-up the lead singer Adrian Borland put out some solo albums, this was his last before he tragically took his own life in 1999 and it's a fantastic showcase for a still largely unappreciated talent.

Can't beat a bit of the old Savoy, innit?
Art Pepper - Tokyo encore
- Art Pepper - Sax
- George Cables - Piano
- Tony Dumas - Bass
- Billy Higgins - Drums
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791): Seong-Jin Cho, piano | Yannick Nézet-Séguin/Chamber Orchestra of Europe
Piano Concerto No. 20 K 466 | Piano Sonatas K 281 & K 332
A nostalgic start of the evening...
And then continued with another groundbreaking album...
If you want to understand what audiophile can sound like, put this one on your ND555, unbelievable air...
Variations Sérieuses: Lilit Grigoryan, piano
Bach (Busoni) | Beethoven | Mendelssohn | Bizet | Szymanowski
