"Heart of Gold". The Jonathan Demme movie of Neil Young's Prairie Wind concert in Nashville. An absolute gem.

It certainly is!

Yesterday I watched an episode of 'Life on Mars'. The TV-series if you are in doubt. I actually was a summer student in England in 1973 and the furniture in the heroes rented room is very much like that in the room I was sleeping in then. Remember the girl with the teddy on the telly to!

Jonathan Demme's Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense is also a top quality concert film too.

"Thunderball" The Ultimate Edition. These are remarkably good remasters of the Connery Bond classics. What strikes me is that if JB was behaving today as Connery's Bond does he's probably end up on the sex offenders register! No never seems to mean no to Mr Bond!

watched hollywood land last night, on a hd combi disc, only on the sd side, thought ben afflick was quite good in it, not his usual sort of film, i thought it was ok, but the story seemed to move along very slowly.

The Who Live at The Isle of Wight - remastered - superb! Arrived from Amazon late last week and had to wait till tonight to play it. Wish I had been there!

First 4 episodes of "Band of Brothers"

Blueknowz, that boxset gets repeated plays here. The extras disc is really worthwhile too. Amazing production values for a made-for-tv series.

The director's cut of "The Wicker Man". An amazing UK cult movie of the early 70's. Picture quality very grainy/noisy. A prime candidate for a digital remastering, a la James Bond Ultimate Editions.
Saw the US remake with Nicholas Cage - not a patch on the original, IMO.

I have passed this several times in the local; rental shop still not convinced ! Think I'll stick with the Directors cut as well!

"Dr No". The Ultimate edition, and another really good remaster. Infinitely preferable to watching England's woeful football match!

The Debt Collector - Ken Stott/Billy Connolly/Francesca Annis
Very good.

The Departed (HD-DVD) - Fast paced, ultra violent and a gratuitous display of McIntosh HiFi. Almost a scene-for-scene remake of Infernal Affairs but missing the scene in the HiFi shop comparing the sound of interconnect cables. The makers of this version probably thought this was too unrealistic; nobody in real life would do something like that.

Children Of Men :
bit of a depressing future vision with a glimmer of hope at the end. Nominated for a Bafta for best cinematography, I think.

Tuxedo

With subtitles in Polish, which only added to the hilarity, as I am begining to be able to read and understand the frail translations!

Silly, if you have a short sense of humour, but a side cracking laugh!

'Snakes on a plane'

The good old 'Killer Tomatoes Are Attacking' genre is reborn combined with 'Air Force one'. It's actually rather good, fun and exciting, probably because they don't take themselves particulary serious!

You're enjoyment should be continued as the team have agreed to SOAP 2 and 3.

You are kidding right? I saw SOAP and one was more than enough! It was fun as Johan says ut that's it! Mind you, any system that will allow 6 Police Academy movies to be perpetrated is capable of anything!

Very good indeed.

Yes! As sequels use to improve on the original...

At last: The Battle Of Britain. With a couple of Poles who really enjoyed it too.
