In some ways it was the most painful film I have ever seen - long to remain in the memory I am sure. Not to be revisited all that soon. Only Cohen could have got away with it...

I agree 100%. Funny at times, cruel and sad at others. Will stick in my memory and I don't feel the need to see it again any time soon.

Just been through the whole of "24" Series Two, again. Enjoyed it almost as much as the first time.

"Ils" ("Them")

based on true events, which is the most frightening thing about this movie. it tells the story of a french teatcher in Romania and her boyfriend. both live in an isolated house which seems to serve as a playground for... "them".

The very impressive Blood Diamond.

Solid storey, great perfomances all round and of course there's the lovely Jennifer Connelly.

Compared to music listening, during which only rarely do I go sleep in, why do films put me to sleep more than half the time?

"Deja Vu" with Denzel Washington. As I happen to be fascinated with the concept of time travel it was a movie for my tastes!

Currently watching Roseanne series 1. Bought it for £5.99 from my local co-op. Bargain for 23 episodes. On second thoughts, perhaps i need to get out more.

"Deja vu" followed by "Blood diamond" both worth watching, both for different reasons

An oldie from 1965 with Jack Lemmon and Terry-Thomas called "How to murder your wife". Jack Lemmon wakes up after a heavy drinking party to find that he suddenly is married! Female leading role is by a VERY good locking Virna Lisi. Quite fun but in the end it gets a bit strange.

We finished Series 3 of "24" at the weekend. Difficult to watch just one episode at a sitting!

I'm not generally a fan of American programs but "24"'s just so incredibly addictive!

We don't bother watching it when it's on TV, just buy the complete series on DVD. That way you miss the adverts & each episode's about 45 minutes long.

It's late in the evening, past bedtime. You get to the end of an episode which invariably ends on a cliffhanger:
"yes, s*d it, let's watch another!"

Zwartboek by Paul Verhoeven.
Liked it but at times I felt like I shouldn't; the production felt a bit too 'lavish' for a film of this type.

Icon- Patrick Swayze.
Another very good newspaper freebie.

Friends With Money. Good, astute portrayal of the middle classes and their relatively 'minor' troubles. Well wrtten and very well acted by the excellent cast.

The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Peter Cushing - Holmes, Christopher Lee - Sir Henry Baskerville.
Hammer production. OK, but I always find it distracting when script writers depart from the original storyline for no good reason.

Billion Dollar Brain.
Michael Caine - 'Arry Palmer.
It's funny how many people love the edge of the Sean Connery Bonds but fail to appreciate the influence of Harry Saltzman - who also produced the Harry Palmer films. In many ways I prefer these films, whilst still ridiculously far fetched they also feel very gritty and grounded.
