John Sayles' Matewan is a favourite of mine, excellent Mason Daring soundtrack, but this documentary punches harder. Hard to believe this was just 1976. Looking at recent events in Chile, plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

I bought this on BluRay on the strength of some good reviews and it's a real hoot!
Hugely entertaining, funny, a bit sad in parts and the best I've seen from Nic Cage in ages.

Imagine a mish-mash of Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Braveheart. But not nearly as good as any of them.
Tosh. Mildly entertaining but generally disappointing. Sound's good though...

It was a very good documentary showing how a grand piano is being built and it was fun watching famous pianists like Grimaud and Hanks trying different Steinways in attempt to find the right piano for their style. What the film lacked was specific information on the materials used to build the instrument like the type of woods, strings, keys, felts and so forth.

An Inner Mongolian production of Genghis Khan. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

Could it happen again? Thought provoking movie!

Iron Man 2 - I enjoyed it quite a bit. It could use more action scenes and I would have made it just a bit darker and more violent, but hey, they can't all be as great as The Dark Knight. Obviously the sound and video production are top notch.

Interesting film but a bit uneven.

OK - not DVD
We went to see Back To The Future in Reading last night. It's the 25th anniversary of the movie release and they're playing it all week!
Now, we have the DVD but I must say that watching in a nearly full large cinema with a bunch of kids who weren't even around when it came out the first time was an absolute hoot! Catch it if you can.

On BluRay via "Love" films which I'm trialling for thirty days (and it's a very efficient service so far)
In spanish with subtitles which is probably why this film hasn't received more publicity over here.
It was very spooky with an unusually good storyline for the genre and excellent acting from a non-celebrity cast.
The HD soundtrack really added to the scary atmosphere, with various subtle creaks creating a very realistic impression of being in an old building with ghosts wandering about.
For those of you who believe stereo sound is just as good for movies, with this sort of film particularly there's really no comparison.

Here is another with a spooky soundtrack,I thought there was people running about in the roof space!

Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, quite nice to watch, as long as you do not look closely at the historical facts....
