All the best from Fredrik
Bullett
This is one of my favourite crime dramas. They used real people wherever possible, including the hospital scenes.
There is a gritty realism to the film, emphasised by the lack of a soundtrack. OK, Jaqueline Bisset mitigates against the real feel, but she is very much on the sidelines.
As much as I enjoy filmic cartoons, including: all the super-hero movies; Mission Impossibles; Bonds; Bournes etc it is good to have some dose of reality from time to time. Cars that are NOT bullet proof, people who do get shot & suffer. Relationships that degrade as one half 'swims in the sewer'.
In an age where we seem to bombard our children with violent games, and films where the answer is to shoot someone, it's nice to see a film where some element of reality intercedes, even though the lead is trying to do the right thing for the right reason.
No nice neat ending tied in a bow here.
Great film.

Looking for a thrill ride climb on board!
Matt,
Hopefully you also had a chance to watch:
Thanks Haim.
I saw Women on the Verge... many years ago. It is probably time to watch it again.
One of the best IMO, superb performances by all.
SAFE HOUSE

Wes Anderson is definitely an acquired taste. I love his movies, however. This is just great (but not for everyone).
Aardman's The Pirates!. Brilliantly done stop motion and a good voice cast, but a bit light on story and jokes.

This was on Channel 4 last night.
Man i have not laughed so much for ages.
I am so glad they had add breaks so i could get my breath back.
If its up on 4player give it a look.

Been a fan of Kurosawa since Seven Samurai. Kagemusha is another great.

Going to see his new tour "Back in the game" in. April.
He seems to have booked The Leicester Square Theatre London for almost the whole month of November
Hi Matt,
Yes, powerful stuff.

Watched this last Saturday night. The other half was out with friends (hen party), so i thought - why not?
Seen it a few times, a good follow up to the original even though it's more shoot-em-up than thriller.

Indeed it was Mr. U.
Well done too.
Not on DVD but on BBC1 late last night.
A gentle film with a great storyline and good acting and music played by the cast.
Shot in Dublin .
One of the best films i have seen in a long time.
Just ordered a copy for under £2 off amazon.

As of today on video... utterly brilliant (in a very popcorny kind of way ).

One of the first movies my wife and I saw together. Very romantic. These guys are still making great music, too.
