Arrived today in the post:
Gruppo Sprotivo - 10 Mistakes
Picked up at a car boot sale for £1.00.
There sense of humour is second to none. They attracted my attention with this piss take out of Eric Clapton on the Old Grey Whistle Test.
Glenn Gould does Beethoven's Symphony 5th transcribed by Liszt.
Interesting!
Abbey Road, in 1969..?
Good album.

I was skeptical on this vinyl reissue of my favourite Ben Folds Five album. After all, this was released in '95 and probably digitally recorded.
I picked it up at the Music Direct yesterday and played it today in the main rig.
I was wrong. Whomever did the pressing, It is a terrific sounding vinyl!
Beethoven Piano Sonatas
Took a walk through the local town yesterday on my way to buy some paint and couldn't help noticing a pile of LPs outside the local Hospice shop. Now these days, I tell myself to keep walking - I'm on a self-imposed vinyl ban - but old habits die hard and I went to take a look. Well dam'me if there weren't some gems in there - still sealed too!
I've just opened up The B52s and it's good to see nice heavy vinyl and foiled sleeve, which probably means it's an early issue. Sound quality is hard to fault.
I was going to pass on the KB as I already have a couple of originals, a Fame reissue and the ATR "audiophile" re-issue, but at £1 each, how could I possibly resist...

Hi Richard, I've wondered before about that ATR re-issue of the Kate Bush. Is it really better than the standard pressing ? Worth getting ?
Cheers.
John, the pressing is pretty good but sound quality is probably not much of an improvement, if at all. I can't honestly say I've sat down and compared back to back with the originals. I've probably only played the ATR twice in its life and each time it didn't really blow me away sonically. But the music's great, and has a particular resonance with me, reminding me of blissful times past.

Ordered this after seeing the Mercury performance. I'd never heard of him before. It's very good, indeed.
