A search along the lines of 'john peel record collection' will give you lots of links to this news item. Here's what one of them said: Twenty-five thousand LPs, 40,000 singles and thousands of CDs from the collection of DJ John Peel are to become the musical exhibits of an interactive online museum. Peel was known for his wildly eclectic taste and as an unsurpassed champion of new music. He died of a heart attack, aged 65, in 2004, after more than three decades at the BBC. Peel’s collection...

Sorted throughmy stacks of cds. Going to get rid of 10% of my cds. Obviously the least favorite ones, or ones that i dont listen to anymore. Have been able to keep my count of cds to around 100 since many years using this principle.
It's a long story but I was given the 8 LP Mono Dylan box set of his first 8 LPs and excellent they are and I am delighted! One small issue is that "Another side of Bob Dylan" contains another copy of "John Wesley Harding" and I am not in a...
Anyone know anything about her (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karen_Dalton)? I read an interesting article about her in Word. I'm tempted by it to try her soon-to-be -released LP. Thanks Andy
This is from the Mahler-list, http://listserv.uh.edu/cgi-bin...;H=0&O=T&T=0 Feb., 2012, week 4, half way down the page. Tony Duggan's sister said that Tony died today, in hospital in Staffordshire, England, after having suffered a stroke yesterday. Tony's doctors have said that the stroke was sudden, and rendered Tony unconscious immediately; he did not suffer. I, for one, miss him.
Doug/Mark or anyone from the Naim crew, At the Bristol show this weekend you played a brilliant Jeff Beck track from a live album. Can you advise the album I must get Regards, Lindsay

Just bagged a 1985 Harvest black label 'The Wall' and if it's as good as my similar WYWH and the reports I've read, then it should be a cracker. I've always found the 1994 'remaster' ok but a shade 'glassy' and slightly restricted in...
Maurice Andre, perhaps the greatest trumpet player of classical music, just died. His playing inspired me in so many ways, and I never tire of listening to his recordings. RIP. http://brassmusician.com/maurice-andre-trumpet-virtuoso-has-died/

The new single 'Gravy Train' by country soul Bristolian band Phantom Limb is out 12th March 2012. The resigned, working-for-the-man sigh of ‘Gravy Train' captures the overriding sense that the band have spent all day making ends meet, but will sing songs they love long into the night. The NEW single is now universally available on YouTube 27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" height="285" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="380">

I didn't get the last Peter Gabriel album as I was not 100% about it. For £3.99 New Blood just got itself ordered, along with Long Walk Home -(Rabbit proof fence soundtrack) at the same price. No doubt I will be cancelling these tomorrow and re-ordering @ £1.99. Thanks to Sis. E. for the heads up!
I got an e-mail from Linn Records to say that DG and Decca labels are now available from them. With visions of hundreds of recordings in 24/96 I went to their site to find a grand total of 5. All of them fairly old and at £18. I guess it is still early days for HD downloads.
