I was listening to "The Who" (Then and Now CD)tonight and I needed to unleash the sound a little on the "Eminence Front" and "Who are you" tracks. I cranked it up for the first time to 11/12 o'clock and "LOVED IT". I have been tame up until now, the...

Hi to any other jazzers out there. My brother is trying to find a cd by Oscar Peterson he once owned on vinyl. He can't remember the title, & he's handicapped, so doesn't have easy access to t'internet or libraries, etc. It had Joe Pass on guitar, probably on the Pablo label, & had the tracks "Jobim" & "Blues for Dennis" ( where I think he played the fender rhodes, as opposed to a grand). I've had a quick search through Amazon, & can't seem to find it. Anyone know what its called? Thanks in...

Lovely waif-like jazz diva Georgia Mancio and her quartet (trio, strictly speaking - pno, bs, drms) are on a UK tour to promote her CD 'Trapeze' and played brilliantly last night at Swindon Arts Centre to, it has to be said, not many people - but then...
I watch Later every week, and every week I fast forward through it in about 5 minutes. James Taylor was good the other week, but that's been about it so far this series. Jools seems to like these student quirky indie bands that all sound the same.So...

This morning, I tuned in George Harrison's >Between the devil and the deep blue sea<. I thought of George and his ukulele, with a bunch of merry sidemen, short before his death, singing so lightheartedly, and I found myself smiling all through...
Very sad news of one of Bruce's main men DANNY FEDERICI, 1950 - 2008"Danny and I worked together for 40 years - he was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much...we grew up together."—Bruce...
Greetings to all,From the outset, I suppose it is only fair that I should be forthright and lay all my cards on the table so that there is no mistake as to where my allegiances and biases naturally lie. I started playing the piano when I was 4 years...

I have just read the following .... Lebrecht views on Karajan Which is fairly hostile to Karajan. Personally I like his Beethoven Symphonies [the first version of the symphonies I ever heard, on record, in about 1970 or so] and I have other recordings by him that I really enjoy [e.g Honnegger symphonies ...]. I have lots of recordings of the Beethoven symphonies and Karajan is a version I particarularly like. The article mentions that he was a member of the Nazi party and that he made lots...
