Which Charles Ives orchestral piece has two bands crossing each other in the street?Care to recommend a recording of this piece?
Look out for this young lady, she is going to create some waves (album in May). Saw her last night supporting David Gray (he did a fantastic set incidentally). From a slip of a girl comes such a powerful voice. I was really impressed with what I...

Just seen a prog on bbc4 called "Tin sandwich anyone": a history of the harmonica. Its repeated at 01.25 tonight, & has some pretty bloomin' great playing on it. Not everyone's cup of tea, but a well played harp is a good noise for me. Matt.

Picture Antony Hegarty blasting over disco beats as camp as a boy scouts meeting. The sound is a modern twist on the spirit of the underground NY dance culture of the seventies and Studio 54 and offers up a really well constructed, smart and infectious...

Anyone got it? I'm considering buying it but as many remasters are compressed and less worthy than the originals I thought I'd check out the forum's views
Forgot to mention to the lads on Monday at Neil Young. When visiting one of my ex collegue (Leggy) in his record shop I thought that sounds like Traffic playing over the system. He gamely informed me that it was the new Steve Winwood- Nine Lives and...
A chance to dream, fantasize, pretend you are an artist rep/record executive .... what have you thought would make a disc you would love to have in your collection but are not aware of it being available .... and if we are really lucky, maybe someone...
I bought this disc a little by accident. A week or two ago I acquired Mackerras's new recording of Mozart's final four symphonies with the SCO (which, though not the subject of this thread, is absolutely superb). However, I've been a little annoyed...

Browsing MDT's future releases I came across a couple of interesting looking items. First up is some more Mozart from Mackerras that I first got wind of a year or so back, a new recording of Cosi, this time with the OAE and in English:...
I don't usually pop up on here too often, but I felt moved to have a rant, when in the space of a week, three people have said the same thing when I challenged them about their illegal downloads.Their response was perhaps what you'd expect, 'well...
I am sure that this topic has been discussed over the many pages in this part of the forum before, but I thought that I would make a post giving some of the experiences I had when demonstrating the various items that make up my current system, and the...
Reading the new Bedini Clarifier thread in the other forum, the following quote from 555 set me thinking; "In fact I explained that I pick my CDs for a listening session & zap 'em whilst doing something else (like reading)." Personally, I usually start a listening session without thought to how long it will be or what genre or artist I will be listening to. In fact I rarely plan a listening session at all. For me it is usually the desire to hear a certain album which leads me on to another...
Just though it may be interesting to swap or share some up to date experiences with your favourite suppliers. On average Im ordering about 5 cds a week but the lack of a decent record shop in the vicinity means I rely on the internet.Recently I have...
