For those of you like myself who are fans Paul Wellers' first two and in my opinion best two solo records the self titled debut and Wild Wood are to be reissued on November 18 and can be pre ordered on Amazon for 17 pounds a piece. I already own Wild wood but have pre ordered the first one myself I believe they have been re-mastered which in my opinion won't do them much harm as the originals are not the greatest mastered records of all time anyway I for one look forward to re owning a...

Just a quick shout for all Page / Zep fans. Jimmy's "Zoso" photo book, originally published as a collector's edition, at £395.00, is currently available on Amazon, plebs edition. Still hardback, and something of a bargain at £26.00 methinks.

Hello good people. New to this forum but I am the kind of hifi listener who keeps a system that I like until I hear something that leaps out as a "must have" upgrade. After the demise of my Densen Beat 100 and 300 biamp setup, I upgraded to a Supernait 2, so far very happy. On both of these setups, there is a piece of music which has always foxed me and perhaps someone here knows the answer. On Beth Orton's Trailer Park album, track 2 "Tangents" around where she sings the words "left behind"...

I just want to thank The Tragically Hip for the soundtrack to my life. A truly Canadian rock band. Perhaps their final concert was broadcast last night to an emotional nation. Their frontman Gord Downie has terminal brain cancer. Towns across the nation setup big screens in public parks for those that couldn't be in Kingston Ontario to watch the concert live. Millions of Canadians watched. It's hard to put in words; its amazing that the power of a rock band united a nation last night.

Yep, they've all gone. Can't listen to them, can't buy them either. What's the idea there? I know there is a tie in with Tidal in terms of integration, but why cut off another potential market place from discovering some pretty good stuff? Certainly some of the albums I now own would never have been discovered had they not been found and auditioned through Qobuz. Seems an odd move to me. I am aware that some other artists, and some labels, have pulled their offerings from Qobuz, and in some...

I have been streaming from iPod into a Pure dock into the NDS, mainly to listen to the Proms. However, it drops out at times, and may or may not come back. Can be very frustrating! Anyone else have this experience?

I'm 50yrs old, my parents are 86/83yrs so grew up in the 50's. When I think about my love of music, and of exploring music, I realise that I was basically exposed to no music at home. We had a radio on for the news (and TMS of course) but no music programming and apart from a few popular light classical albums I cannot think of any more 'pop' music at home. We had a 'music centre' but I don't think my parents ever used it. Nobody is musical at home, neither my brother or I played an...

https://archive.org/details/etree Been listening to the Grateful Dead, Little Feat, the Radiators, Grace Potter, all free and sounds variable but pretty good for live music. The price is right. They even have Stanton Moore, Sarah Jarosz, Alabama Shakes, Bela Fleck and many others. All free. Check it out. I just plug my MacBook Pro into my Halide DAC HD cable, and into the pre amp. You can look under each section and see the most popular by the number of downloads. Great variety from old to...

Yup, my name is Bruce, I am a 50 something male, I spend lots of money on Naim HiFi and I really cannot get why so many people adore and obsess over 'Floyd. Sure DSOTM was pretty original and striking but I will listen to it once every few years at most. Much of their other output (I own a Greatest Hits double CD) seems uneven, occasionally bombastic or just plain odd. 'the song 'Wish You were here' is quite fun. There, I'm out of the closet. I feel better. Or maybe there is a PF album that...

Hello, After Kevin bought a few of the older Pink Floyd vinyl I realized there were many Pink Floyd albums I'd never really sat down and listened to, then I proceeded to get on Spotify and start at the beginning. What a Journey! Seems there were (at least) three distinct eras in the PF history: With Syd Recently without Syd, addition of Gilmour Modern Sound Growing up I have listed to #3 so much I actually can't stand to hear most of it now, played over and over--the radio stations in the US...

Hi, It seems to be a given that those of us, of a certain age, were driven to discover where the, at the time, latest schoolboy listen, the Rolling Stones, got their inspiration from, hence the so called "blues explosion" in the UK, and my subsequent love of blues music. Later, I became aware of Zeppelin's African influence, and have learned to love both original African artists and folks such as Justin Adams, who plays both in Planty's band, and in his African influenced band Juju. So, what...

Has anyone copied the SACD release of DSOTM and converted it to stereo... Thus making it a studio rendered 24 bit 96kHz copy? I have the SACD disc, but don't know how to rip fully and maintain the resolution above 16 bit 44.1kHz. (Akin to the problem of ripping Brothers in Arms - an HDCD disc that only rips at 16 bit 44.1 kHz.)

just noticed that Naim music store is being run by bleep stores? looking at the site, it looks to me like you can now only buy Naim music on download, and not able to by CD's anymore. is this right or am I missing something?

Only a tenner for 28 deliciously remixed tracks. And .......... the saints be praised; Mr Nicholas Bracegirdle of Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire (for 'tis he) or whoever mastered the retrospective double CD was clearly threatened with "DO NOT TOUCH THAT COMPRESSOR" because it actually sounds superb on a high-resolution audio system. Hallelujah! It can still be done. Enjoy; my brethren and sistren of the audiophile persuasion. John.

I am selling a Giannini student model guitar, having just purchased a different handmade in Spain guitar as my "lower" classical when I do not want to play my concert instrument. I listed it on Craigslist. A guy called and said he plays classical guitar, and wanted to buy an instrument for his 8 year old son who is starting on guitar. Usually I don't let CL people come to my house, but something just told me this was OK. Well he comes over and we exchange pleasantries - he is originally from...
