Does anybody have an excellent recommendation for these pieces of Dvorak (whom I tend to like)? Especially, I would like a good version of the E major.

Then try Lyambiko, a daughter of Tanzanian / German origins, and make sure your jaw lands softly as it lands on the floor.I'm so fed up with all these Fräulein-Wunder being popped out of the major labels drawers, just to repeat Blue Notes Norah...

If you need assistance finding some new music their are some online methods discussed in this URL=http://technology.guardian.co.uk/online/insideit/story/0,,1677853,00.html]Guardian article[/URL] written by my brother Mark. It is mainly about Pandora the offshoot of the Music Genome Project, set up in 2000 by a group of musicians and music technologists who wanted to create "the most comprehensive analysis of music ever". Picked up the album "Kitty Jay" on recommendation of a friend and am gobsmacked at the quality of the song-writing and performance. It's a folk(y) album, guitar based, but is well worth checking out even if you're not normally into folk music. The guy...

Whilst decorating, we moved house over Christmas, I was enjoying the Bach Christmas on Radio 3. In particular a [single] voice to a part cantata caught my ear. Didn't get chance to write it down and now can't find it on R3 website. I know there are hundreds of cantatas [I listened to a lot of Radio 3 this Christmas] but can anyone identify any voice to a part cantatas? best stephenjohn

Mozart's last two string quintets, KV515 and 516, are amongst the most profound pieces of music that he ever wrote. They are also scandalously underknown compared to, say, the clarinet quintet written around the same time in Mozart's life (that is,...

I'll admit to "Forever Autumn" on the old "War of the Worlds" album. Can't really explain it but I find it incredibly moving. I hadn't heard it for years and then it popped up on the radio last week. Instant spinal tingle. Sad? Dunno. What's yours?

I see Naxos have a re-issue of a version of the Morton Felman String Quartet [listed under new releases -- north american classics] .... It's by the 'Group for Contempory Music' -- first issued by Koch Classics in 1994. Two questions ... a) Is this version any good b) I thought the string quartet lasted about 6 hours -- is this the same work .. Thanks James H.

Being an old sceptic, I've often thought the re-mastering of back catalogue was probably just a ruse to further liberate music fans from their hard earned. However, tempted by some additional tracks, I recently purchased the new re-mastered "Show Biz...
