A quite superb singer/songwriter, who released two epic albums in the early 1970's and then disappeared from sight. His two albums have just been re-released on CD and were rapturously reviewed in Mojo. Quite wonderful, and it's very surprising to me...

Dear Friends,I have been wondering however to describe the two most significant Bach recordings I have become aquainted with this year. I speak of the Helmut Walcha's recordings of the Art Of Fugue and Golberg Variations, on Baroque Organ and...

I am not a fan but on vinyl this album sounds fantastic. Max 3 songs on one side gives great sound! It`s called "Playing the angel". Let the party begin.

After arriving at the same point in both of these cycles, I figured a direct comparison between the two sets seemed like a good idea. Certainly up to this point I prefer PBS’ approach. Anton Kuerti is too willful, eccentric, or egocentric,...

Yoiks! There's a new, young band that I actually like!I just got the Clientele's new album on CD, Strange Geometry; atmospheric, tremoloed guitars meld occasionally with the pukka string arrangements (courtesy of the incomparable Louis Phillipe),...

Kate Bush Day - official.Gawd knows why they can't release cds on a Saturday when I'm, conveniently, out shopping; no it has to be on a work day so the charts can be "massaged".But for la Bush I'll make the one exception, so it's off to my dedicated...

Some interesting stuff Here & also here regarding recent calls from a lot of computer users of very bad practice by Sony ref some rather malicious & ultimately dangerous code put onto pc's via the 'player' used for the protected cd's. Get you cd's changed to UN protected ones for free via the second list. Back to the drawing board for those guys I guess.

Three listens in and I am enjoying this new studio album so much. The classic melodic quality to his compositions, arrangements and orchestrations is still there in spades. The production is delicious and all the playing is great. Elvis Costello,...

Dear Friends,This is a chestnut, which I have never seen dealt with here.Clearly the is no physical reason why the keyboard works of JS Bach cannot actually be played on the piano, though interestingly no one seems to have attempted to find a piano...
