Hi Folks,Anyone else got the new Elanor McEvoy album yet?I've only had the chance to listen to it once so far, but I like it so far. Not quite as instrumentally sparse as Yola, and her Irish accent seems to be coming through a bit more.Regards,Steve.

I see that there is a re-release of old material as a double CD The Island Years from the Tindersticks.CD1 seems to be a repeat of "Donkeys" that was released a few years ago - but CD 2 has 17 other tracks. I already have "Donkeys", is it worth...

Loyd Grossman appeared on Radio 3's Private Passions last week, and chose some pretty interesting music. One track was Ojos Asi by Shakira, which has a kind of world/middle-east sound (sorry to be so vague). Anyhow, it's a cracking song that powers...

One of the great things about having a record collection built up over 30 years or more is that you can find yourself listening to some odd things. Got a new cartridge today so going through the back catalogue and finding myself listening to A Good...

No doubt about this one Tal Farlow with Andy somebody or other in the mid 90's in a jazz club in Bham, boring to the point of nausea.Oh and Yngwie Malmsteen.

I'm looking for some advice regarding which CD Database software works well. It must automatically identify CDs inserted in the CD Drive and also be capable of manual entry. If poss it would be nice to be able to add LPs as well and differentiate. Any...

Finally got the new Ozrics album - quite chilled in parts, good bit of Eat Static input. Better and, at about 70mins, longer than recent offerings.

Ever wanted to know if your audio CD is actually made from an original source? In many countries (Vietnam? Russia?) pirated copies are sold as original, but the music material might have been transferred in a lossy compressed format at some point. A...

I belatedly caught 'Shockheaded Peter' this weekend at the Lyric Hammersmith, and am still suffused with that warm glow that excellence induces. Besides, tales of the mutilation & death of small wayward children always give unaccountably deep satisfaction to primary school teachers. It's just so right, somehow. Is anybody else tempted by the Pixies live CDs from the upcoming tour? They come in at £18 inc shipping. I think if I were going to one of the gigs, I wouldn't be hesitating. As it is $32 looks a bit steep.
