Now that I have a machine capable of playing SACDs, I finally picked up Michael Tilson Thomas’ recording of Mahler’s Sixth, recorded in concert between September 12th and 15th, 2001. This disc was purchased to serve dual purposes: to...

Any other fans of out of the way repertoire out there? Come on, I know there are at least a few. If so, I propose the following: go forth and buy a disc (or even used LP) of unusual repertoire and then report your findings in this thread. And do so on...

This disc is frickin' awesome! Does anyone know what Hal Willner's other "tribute" discs are like? I think there's a Kurt Weill tribute and a Monk tribute, maybe others.

I would like to loan my system to a party serving about 125 people in a space measuring 40 feet x 40 feet. (I have no idea what that would be in meters. ) I have a 72/250/cd3.5, and 2-hicaps. The musical selections would be mostly from dance, disco,...

This band was cult when the first album came out, and I had it. Nowardays, I can't bear to listen to 21st century schizoid man. OTOH, I have Beat, and like that. I played Larks tongue in Aspic yesterday, but it seemd too suble and didn't grab me,...

I just bought some SACD's and I must admit that the quality of the CD layer is superior to a remastered CD. The comparison was made on a CDX/XPS.I don't know if some of you did the same comparison. I'm interested in comments..Is it still worth to buy...

Kraftwerk. You know. Mmmmmm. Wasn't it? Drum-machines as goalposts.Sorry. I seem to have lost 6 years of my life somewhere. What I wanted to ask was, does anyone know which (if any) of the Kraftwerk albums, post 'Autobahn', are 'different' in their...

No matter how much you like a band/album I have found you go through fazes of playing them, maybe sometimes 5/10 years apart. I have been through, say Beatles spurges 3 or 4 times, when you can't believe how good they were and you forget the...

While I'm tracking down decent vinyl copies of 'The Yes Album' & 'Fragile', I wondered about getting the remastered CDs (1994). What's the verdict on these ? And while I'm here, does anybody remember the name of the Atlantic Sampler with 'America', the Paul Simon Song, by Yes. Peter
