Because of the total lack of a decent Tv programme of any quality regarding music, my frustration has led me to write this. I would like to discuss with anyone who is interested the merits of some good music (and maybe where and why it sends you). My...

I just got Pink Floyds Division bell on vinyl.Again proof to me that the vinyl medium is still very relevent, sounding sweeter, clearer and just better than the CD version. Its blue vinyl as well, which I would expect to sound like shite.

Got the new 'Q' through the post yesterday, and having a quick flick through noticed the new Strokes album got a 5 star review. Now this is pretty rare for 'Q' and certainly the first 5 star review of the year, in fact the last 5 star review may have...

I have just been listening to the new Killing Joke Album, and quite good it is.They are very angry about a fair number of things, and want to shout at you about it. God, The Army, God, the economic system, no target is safe!Dave Grohl on drums makes...

I saw them play at Cambridge sunday. Brilliant gig, good sound. Only marred by the fact that people in England can still smoke in public venues The new album 'Cast of thousands' is superb too. Guy Garveys voice is a combination of Peter Gabriel and...

Borrowed 'Nixon' from a mate and have spent the weekend wrapped in its sweeping tunes and gothic lyrics. Reminds me of a combination of Prefab Sprout and Luke Haines (but American!) A band I seem to have missed out on before now. Their back catalogue...

Picked up my first DJ Shadow music last weekend - a double LP from a Peel show. I'm curious as to whether this is representitive of all his work, or a one off. After hearing a lot of hype, I was a little underwhelmed.cheers,Dan

Ive been listening to the Doves latest offering "lost sides" and to be honest even though it is only a collection of b-sides and rarities etc it would certainly stand up as a 'new' offering. Well worth a listen and at a low price too.

If you find yourself struggling to see how Psychedelic Goacore relates to Hard Acid, Ishkur has samples and a laughably overspecified path diagram.Who knew that Boards of Canada was 'illbient'?I really hope it's a parody, but I fear it is meant to be...

This label is brilliant. I've got most of the % Dynamite series, but during my recent busying spree I bought 'Nice up the Dance' which is sort of Dancehall meets Hip/Hop with a bit of Reggae. It's really good. I'll do a full listing of what I've...

As if!I thought I'd report on a funny bit of documentary I saw last week. Dutch tv ran a 1984 documentary about Yehudi Menuhin. At some point there was footage of a couple of performances of Beethoven's late G major sonata. You get to see three bits...
