I am listening to the Cash Unearthed Box right now. As always the music just grabs my soul and causes goosebumps all over my body.   Besides the CD-Box I have the American Recordings I, III, IV and V on LP. Volume II was not to my taste, though....

If so, my son's band, The Raptures, are playing at the Wedgewood Rooms. They've got a new drummer and a new singer, and new material that they won't divulge, so hopefully it will be good. It's a battle of the bands - they are all 17 (apart from the drummer, who's just sat his GCSEs, but is bloody good) and there are nine bands in three hours from 7 till 10. It's only £4. To see these young bands gets you to the heart of what music is all about. I've seen some great bands at the Wedge, which...

I've been trying to buy a 96/24 version of Tom Petty's 'Damn The Torpedoes' and have found it at hdtracks.com, prostudiomasters.com and qobuz.com; however all three stores have territorial restrictions that prevent me from buying.     Keen...

Not sure how many film score fans are on here, but James Horner who has scored over 150 films ( and 2 were for the biggest box office films ever Titanic and Avatar) just died, too soon, aged 61.    Some of the films might be guilty...

Any suggestions and recommendations for a genre that needs a place in any music lovers collection ? I'm thinking more Glen Campbell, Lee Hazlewood , John Denver .... If it's got a string section in it +. Any recent recordings..?

Let the moaning, bitching, accusations of deafness and recriminations begin! The final three Led Zep studio albums will be available at the end of July. Usual format - single CDs, double (or triple in Coda 's case) deluxe, single/deluxe vinyl, hi-res download and super deluxe set. Difference this time round is that the extra stuff (in the case of coda, a lot of it), is very interesting. Here's an extract from the Warners press blurb: Originally released in 1976, Presence was recorded during...

Following the recommendation of another NAIM user posted in a different topic, I bought a copy of the Music Matters Blue Note re-issue of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers Moanin. Excellent pressing quality and truly musical sound, one of the best LP's I have heard in quite some time. I have therefore decided to open a new topic on the subject of Music Matters re-issues to discuss the merits of these and other comparable re-issues and listeners recommendations. here is the link to Music...
