Having failed to get tickets for Chicago I was delighted to discover it is being shown live in my local cinema (Showcase, Cabot Circus, Bristol) on 6th July at 6.30. It's timed for 5 hours and costs £15 - cheap at many times the price as I was up for spending around £2k going to the real thing! When booking, a list of several other cinemas came up so it would be worth checking the Showcase Cinema web site for a show close to you - it's listed under Events. Should be a great atmosphere - does...
Somehow I had a turntable and a 45 of "Another Brick in the wall." I played the stuffing out of that. Houston, Texas ~ 1979 ~ 1975? Before that (no clue what year) I remember the flimsy, thin plastic...
This is a warning. I have just received my vinyl copy of the new Dawes album. I therefore went to download the digital version using the code card and have been infected with MacVx. Be very very careful. To remove it on a mac go to safari...

With the wonders of modern technology we can now check on our systems what we ACTUALLY listen to most frequently ....perhaps embarrassingly! Here are the top page of albums as captured by my NS01: Medusa...
When I was in my teens, which was a very long time ago, a teacher played I am a rock by Simon and Garfunkel to us in an RE lesson and I loved it. When I got home I discovered that my mum and dad had their greatest hits album and I discovered that I loved the whole album and have been listening to it ever since. I've noticed that a 24 bit version has just come out which is a whopping £20. Has anyone, by any chance, had a chance to hear it and, if you had, was it worth the outlay?
Did anybody see Dylan on the David Letterman Show last night? I would be interested in what he played, said and any comments you may have? Thanks, Richard
I steal this quote "Another Plaque In The Wall" from an small article in tonight's London Evening Standard about Roger Waters and Nick Mason unveiling a plaque honouring Pink Floyd at the site of Regent St. Polytechnic. Richard
Anyone in Manchester today to watch the Foo Fighters? My first time seeing these so looking forward to it
...especially since I'm getting back to vinyl.
i admit this is very subjective and possibly contentious but what the hell it may stimulate some debate. It seems after a degree of success some bands will seek to show of their prowess with a magnum opus. Yes a double album showing how very talented...
This occurred to me shortly after posting in the 'Tracks with PRat thread. I'm not being mischievous. But has anyone been to a concert and made a comment about the presence or absence of PRat? Or do recording engineers implement PRat measures?...
Another very sad loss. One of the very last Blues Greats. RIP.
Well, there I was sitting listening to some new music on the TIDAL Rising section of the TIDAL site when Matt Bradford's album "Broken Hymns" appeared. I loved it. Hard to describe as a genre but Americana in feel for sure. Having...

I've always been partial to INXS and have a couple of their albums and a couple of greatest hits DVD's but have just been introducing my Daughter to them and explaining to her how Michael Hutchence was one of the greatest frontmen/perfomers in the...

What are the most beautiful/lyrical genre independent melodies that have ever been composed ?
One of the greats of the Blues who has given me many hours of pleasure has just died aged 89. Thank you for your music. Here's one of the write up's that is up online this morning. The 'King of the Blues' guitarist and...

As I can't resurrect this topic http://forums.naimaudio.com/topic/rush-hd-new-masters-and-vinyl I was wondering if there are any versions recommended (CD or download) that rectify the awful tonal balance of the 'Permanent Waves', and 'Grace Under...
Piano for Dummies. Touch Pianist Ok. I've tried Debussy Arabesque and Satie's Gnnosienne. Fun for kids I think but nothing beats the real practice.
"It started with a kiss" reminds of my school days :-) there is of course the hit "you sexy thing"...
Hi there, next week I will travel to Manchester. I will have free time for half a day and like to visit one or two record stores for second hand vinyl. I'm mainly interested in Funk, Soul and Rock. Could somebody give a piece of advice? Thanks, cheers...
