E - A Man Called (E) E from Eels solo album from 1992. Far more poppy musically than Eels releases but lyrically very similar with songs such as 'Fitting in with the miss-fits', 'Hello cruel world' & 'I've been kicked around'. Obviously a happy chappy since birth then! Eels - Souljacker As mentioned by others previously. Kings of Convenience - Versus Tracks from 'Quiet is the new loud' get a work-over with some wicked re-mixes. Worth getting if you really like them already or, if you...

If you like his music you will really get into his new one. A real mix of ambient oddness mixed with tunes which are best described as aural assault!I have only listened to half of it so far ( got it yesterday ) so I am hoping the second half is as...

While attempting to listen to Elbow last night at the waterfront, here in Norwich, it struck me just how little the quality of live sound of bands has improved over the years, if at all. The band performed wonderfully, yet you couldnt hear the vocals,...

I can pick up the set relatively cheap, but as I currently own three complete cycles I'm looking for a darned good one before I'll part with the cash. I've heard a couple performances on the radio, but not enough to know whether I should go for the...

Over the course of the past year or so I have picked up a few discs of the music of Karl Amadeus Hartmann, and each time I praised it in another thread as music that is profound and grossly underappreciated. I also mentioned that I was so fond of the...

I recently purchased a Lys transfer of Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Berlin Philharmonic in Bruckner’s 8th Symphony. This is the March 14th, 1949 recording. A few months back I also purchased the March 15th recording in a Music & Arts transfer. What a difference. Whereas I had reservations about the first two movements from the March 15th performance, I have no such reservations about the March 14th performance. In fact, I have nothing but admiration for the performance. Every...
