"Sourced from the original analog masters" seems to be a big marketing emphasis of classic rock music these days. I understand the point, but what is the reality? Any idea on how these tapes were stored back in the day? Does anyone really...

Now that HD Tracks has launched in the EU, based in Germany, has anybody bought anything?   As per the US site, I get the usual 'not available due to region restrictions' message.   I have sent them an email to question the ability to sell...

Hello, at a garage sale I bought "Also sprach Zarathustra" on vinyl from Deutsche Grammophon. The Cover shows catalogue number 136 001 SLPEM. Is somebody out there who knows what meaning this acronym has? Thanks in advance Ralf

Just bought a Naim Label 2002 pressing of "Meet Me in London" and ... totally confused. Comparing to 24/192 which I bought from Naim the vinyl sounds flat (!!!) -- just as if the soundstage has totally collapsed. Pressing "mono" does...

For some odd reason, I seem to find myself enjoying jazz flute to a great extent. Strange, given that I dislike the flute in practically every other musical context. So, I've got hold of some Herbie Mann and Hubert Laws, both of whom are great....

Just wanted to mention that I received Szell's Beethoven Symphony cycle on cd today, and it's absolutely wonderful. I've listened to symphonies 1,4,6 & 7 so far, and could not be more pleased. Everything just seems right. This set makes a strong argument that the Cleveland Orchestra under Szell was as fine as any in the US, either in it's day, or since. Also included are the Egmont, King Stephen, and Fidelio Overtures. The 5 disc set is cheap as chips, and is remastered in 24 bit.
