Just curious as to what proportion of an existing CD collection, would Naim owners repurchase their same music held, as higher resolution/ definition downloads?Would you re-buy all of it, a select batch of cherished...

Does anyone know a source of this concert on cd or digital download?  I've seen lp's on Amazon, and very occasionally a cd on the Bay that is likely just a bootleg anyway. I've heard a lot about this recording over the years, but never been...

The vinyl bargain of the year arrive this morning; £18.83 from Amazon. Joy of joys. At last a new vinyl issue that is analogue all the way from recording to final mastering. And it shows, the SQ is superb with none of the obvious digital compression heard on so many new recordings. Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer should take note. I'm only half way through but this is vintage Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Young's vocals aren't aged in any way and Black Beauty, his vintage black Gibson is on song,...

Does anyone have experience with new LPs from Sub Pop? Matador? Other Indie labels? I've tried to ask a few labels how they press their LPs and if they are using the same digital files as the CDs. Assume in most cases they are, but if there are...

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but as a Massive Attack fan it is great news that they are remastering and re-releasing their Classic album 'Blue Lines' with Vinyl, Cd and 24bit versions available from 19th Novemeber, shame the deluxe boxset is £55 as getting the Vinyl and 24bit in one package is exactly what I think more record companies should embrace to help drive sales up again. What I'm most excited about though is the prospect of them giving the same treatment to...

Anyone have the new 'AWATR' or Hats' remasters? A friend reckons that they sound cleaned-up and very good (c/w bonus tracks), but I have my doubts. The samples on iTunes are obviously louder than the (excellent) original mixes by The Scottish Company...

Dear Santa, What I would really like for Christmas is a Naim 500 series system and a mansion to put it in. If that is too much to put on the sled, may I please have an Everton kit, some white Alan Ball football boots, a midfielder to...

Good morning, I have been reading the “Better Records” site with interest for some time. For those not familiar with them, they listen to many, many different pressings of classic albums such as "DSOTM" and then say that certain matrix numbers can be classified as a "Hot Stamper" or "White Hot Stamper" etc and sell these for huge prices - we may be talking up to $400-$500 for an album here. While I would never pay such an amount, their site does contain very interesting reviews and tips on...

Clockwork Angels. It's hard to believe it's been so long since Snakes, and Arrows. It is to be hoped that we don't get yet another brick walled effort but no matter. I'm used to Rush albums being unlistenable on the grounds of recording...

Rumours abound that the mighty Zep are, after five years, going to release an official DVD of the 2007 02 gig... I for one hope it's true. I'm usually very wary about bands reforming (Blur and Magazine were two exceptions) but it was a better gig than...

Rollingstone.com have an announcement of 12 new tracks, People, Hell and Angels. From '68 & 69, 'experimental stuff'. Could be interesting........ PS The Tone Audio review of Neil Young's Psychedelic Pill show's the reviewer's art at it's best, very eloquent and spot on, not a one paragraph soundbite. Still the vinyl version to come, amps a warming.... Cheers John

Much controversy has surrounded the recent Rolling Stones concert tour ticket prices, but one thing I saw in terms of "alternatives" has been from the early British punk scene. I only listen to most punk rock retrospectively since the...
