Steve’s rare record find at a car boot sale, got me thinking about music memorabilia in general. What’s your favourite piece of memorabilia? This is one of mine. Regards Graham.
Songs of Sandy Denny at the Barbican 10:05 BBC4 tonight.Stu.
Sorry people but this new remaster does not. I wanted it to be so much better than the originals. Stu.
This is a must watch: http://youtu.be/iRezeGgg4pQ Beautiful and impressive story about a Music Experience at teh University of the South, seldom seen. Enjoy ! Iver
So JP is going to re-master everything, again. http://www.planetrock.com/news...ng-entire-catalogue/ Err ... why. They can't need the cash and JP has already re-mastered them how many times already ? I love Zep but really, is this...
Pal Judy by Judy Nylon is an album I have always loved. It has, to the best of my knowledge, only been issued on cassette and vinyl. I have the latter: I crave the cd.
Anybody else own it? We could start a campaign.
Genesis Revisited II FourLP+Two CD Box set. If you have? What do you think of it?Stu.
As I am listening to a Steamhammer LP I realised that I went to it after playing Santana, another CBS LP. I then thought of a sampler I bought as a teenager called 'Fill Your Head With Rock'. Looking at the LP I realised that I have most of the LP's...
OK, so I've received e-mail about new album from Huey & The New Yorkers released on Naim Label. I'd love to purchase high definition version but.... You pay £12.99 and receive only 2/3 of the album. When you go to iTunes UK, there is 17-track version for £10.99 . I know it is lossy compressed but still - you miss 5 track when purchasing directly from Naim Label. Why I cannot purchase all 17 tracks in high definition from Naim Label?
As it's Movember, which moustache wearing artist deserves tribute as a musician and an extreme moustache wearer. Jim Croce gets my vote.
Has anybody received their copy yet? Apparently released yesterday. Still waiting for mine. Steve
Just caught the news that Terry Callier passed away in hospital this week. This is very sad news - another of the great talents of the past 40 years who is no longer with us .
Terry was re- discovered in the 90's having been around from the late...
Prompted by the 'Bored' thread I was reflecting on my disinterest in most (not all)'new' 'artists' (not 'music') since about 1980. The majority of my collection spans 1950's (jazz)to early 80's (rock & Blues) and with that I'm quite happy. No real desire to search out something which hasn't crossed my path by dint of its sheer excellence.... What era forms the majority of your music collection? G
This is partly inspired by the Remember when you were young thread, however a bit of a twist since it requires throwing away your old music. As I keep mentioning in other posts, I'm running my first ever Naim and in the process...
Today their debut album is being re-released as a 3 disc remaster including extra stuff (remixes, DVD videos etc..) and BBC 6 Music are broadcasting programmes on the band following this. Did anyone follow the band particularly if you grew up in...
Dear Gentlemen, I would be grateful if you can point out some well executed recordings of Ray Charles' albums. Nowadays there are plenty of known and unknown labels issuing his work that I'm a bit confused. Thanks in ...

Just picked up The Loner Nils sings Neil Young. I could never gel with Acoustic Live and the infamous Keith Don't Go. This one sounds superb, Like a Hurricane and Only Love Can Break Your Heart courtesy of Nils.
What was the first album you bought that you still listen to today?
Just got back from Croydon, bumped into the owner of Memory Lane a s/h music shop. He just told me he is doing more specialist LPs now as the likes of Amazon have taken a lot of the run of the mill sales away. Told me he has got a few punters interested in a 1st pressing/mint bla, bla, bla King Crimson LP at a bargain £2000. Am i out of touch with prices or what???? Mista H
For those of you who haven't swung by the Naim Label site recently... Naim Edge Records are proud to announce the signature of one of popular music's most respected figures - not just as a talented musician, broadcaster with an encyclopaedic knowledge of western music and multi-million selling artist - but one of the coolest people on the planet. Huey and the New Yorkers is the debut solo project of Huey Morgan , the provocative frontman of Brooklyn's own ‘Fun Lovin Criminals' . Drenched...
All I have 700 cd's and about the same in vinyl. Looking for something new and interesting to listen to. 54 year old mature adult, well pretty mature with open mind on music. Anybody got any suggestions and why? Good sound...
Don"t what ever you do forget this is a three sided album. Side four has no grooves on it.Because the vinyl is clear it looks like it has.I just did it as normal only to have a near heart attack.Stu.
