I find that the so-called "bonus" tracks that come with some re-issues to be very hit-or-miss. Alternative versions of songs already on the album usually don't really add much and "previously unreleased" can often mean they weren't released for the...

All the bands I like are brilliant, really good musicians, but don't ever show off, their lyrics are just so clever and point out social situations that really make you think, but they don't lecture you, oh no, they would never insult you like that. ...

Like many on this Forum, I follow the "What are you listening to..." thread with great interest. One thing I've noticed is how much classical album covers have gotten a lot more imaginative over the years - back in the day you'd generally get a...

After hearing My Valentine from this album the other day which I rather liked I notice that you can buy a Hi Res download on Paul McCartneys website. Has anyone done this, and if so is it worth the premium over 16/44? Thanks Richard

I have to make up a CD for a one off event and much of the music is not really of any interest to me. So, I was wondering where would be the best place to download audio files if possible individual tracks from albums? I guess the quality doesn't...

This morning when taking the children out for a bicycle ride we ended up at the quarry in Gullet Wood, Eastnor and there was a brass quintet playing Nimrod across the water. Search Google maps to find some better images and it's location. It...

I have a copy of this on vinyl which appears to be on Universal Republic: B0008994-01. I've never really been especially happy with the quality of this LP. I have found on at least one other online retailer's site the same LP on Island with a...

For a long time I've had the complete set by the Melos Quartet on DG on CD. Last night I listened to the Death & The Maiden quartet and found the sound was particularly hard/harsh. I wonder if anyone can recommend an alternative in better sound please? The performances are fine, but marred by the sound.
