Fantastic jazz vocalist
There is a french hi res audio website at www.qobuz.com. It is pretty darn good musically and allows you to download hi-res wav files. Lately with the Naim ssdx, harddrive unitserver, I have noticed some downloaded albums showing...
Have any of you Fathers on here been dropping hints to your children on what albums you would like on Sunday ?Stu.
You can't even imagine how much I owe you. RegardsMassimo
Hi,
First post here in Music room.
I use Spotify premium at my office for listening. Listened today a lot to Philip Glass. Among others koyaanisqatsi and some Kronos Quartet recordings. Have not listened to Glass for almost ten years.
Does anyone...
Some good news from the US for those of us who (like my goodself) still obsess somewhat about all things Steely Dan ..... Scott Hull who spent 15 years at Masterdisk and was Bob Ludwig's assistant is overseeing the new Donald Fagen album (for CD,...
Dear all I sing as a tenor in the Luton Choral Society, and next Saturday we are singing the African Sanctus in what promises to be a really exciting event! It's a multimedia event, complete with African Dancers! Tickets are only £10 each and we have funding from the Arts Council. Tickets can be booked online too: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/163983 which uses and e-ticket system so it's really easy to book. We are really excited about this event and hope to see some Naimers there Dave

Bob Welch, singer and guitar player for Fleetwood Mac committed suicide yesterday at age 66. His contributions to mid-era Fleetwood Mac were major. Bare Trees and Heroes are Hard to find still rank with all of their material. RIP.
Anyone else have Discs 1 and 2 information transposed on the Cd's themselves? Must be a batch error. G
For those of us still on CD and with an expanding collection, the challenge is either to find huge amounts of space to store the collection, or adopt sleeves, maps or other archival system. Some time ago I adopted the latter, decreasing necessary...
Kimiko Ishizaka http://www.opengoldbergvariations.org/download Try this. The score is available for download, too. Haven't tried it myself yet. Just thought I'd share. Edit: Downloaded, converted (with XLD) and imported...
1st of a 3 parter shown last Friday 1st June and covered the build up to the punk explosion from 1972-1976.
Great programme with some excellent old footage and good interviews.
If you missed it take a peek at it on iPlayer - well worth it!
Parts 2...
interested to know of cover versions that you know of that are unusual , not well known or completely unlistenable but not particulary in that order.these could be covers that you wouldnt expect the artist to have done or ones that surpass...
Hi would be interested in any early impressions of the new Richard Hawley Cd. From what I have read it seems a big departure from his recent work. The cover art looks fantastic is the music as good? Graham
First, a huge thanks to Doug Graham for introducing me to the music of Tunng. I'm completely floored by their work, the inventiveness, the arrangements, the intelligent mix of electronic and acoustic music, the psychedelic overtones. It just gets...
Has anybody been lucky enough to catch this? I had serious doubts but having heard some recordings it sounds insanely good. The support band is mainly Brian's with a few other first class musicians alongside.Sadly no UK dates by the looks of it,...
If you didn't see it then worth catching on the iPlayer. After two rather mediocre programmes about pub/punk rock (where did they get the ridiculous narrator from) and some rubbish about ToTP, I thought this was yet another BBC4 wash out -...
Just ordered a box from Amazon for £30.99 Has anyone else purchased this box set yet? (Would like to know what the quality of recording and mastering is like) Also, did anyone see the BBC 4 program about Delius on Friday evening? Thought is was quite fasinating, imho... Delius 150th Anniversary Edition [18 x CD box-set] Sleigh Ride Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Thomas Beecham Marche Caprice ed. & arr. Beecham Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Thomas Beecham Over the hills and far...
Finally a copy of Close to the Edge that sounds good, very good actually! I have three other copies that have always disappointed and ruined what is my favorite Yes record. FridayMusic has reissued a 180gm LP that is quiet, nicely packaged and...
LIstening to Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone back in January I heard this track: oOoOO - Hearts It's purportedly Witch House (which is a largely made up and not particularly helpful genre). I went in to Rough Trade East and asked if they had...
