Hello I am seriously considering upgrading from my UnitiQute to an Atom but also want to further increase the power of my system. My budget makes it harder for me to go straight to the Uniti Nova. It would be great if I could do this upgrade from my Qute in two stages. So, while I figure the NAP100 will work with the Atom (as my later add-on), is Naim already planning/working on an equivalent to the NAP100 that matches the look/design of the new Uniti range? Thanks, Ali

Sorry for the basic question but I haven’t seen a summary of the differences between each. instinctivly I think I’ve ordered them by greatness, but what are the pros and cons? Then there’s XPS for NDX and NDS? Thanks

Today after coming back home I have tried to listen some music and unfortunately left channel stopped working:-( Last year I have purchased this amp and was already broken (was a demo model) - problem with the left channel too! and now this?! I'm curious what the local distributor will do with that... I'm so done with this s... - twice broken during a year!? I have had in plan to buy a new loudspeakers and now I'm thinking again about the service for this amplifier PS; yes.. I have tried to...

Please could someone help me out? I've recently purchased some Naim kit and i'm now wondering if I've made a bad choice. I bought second hand privately, Naim amp and power amp Nac122x, Nap150x and Flat Cap 2x. I use Ecose speaker cable from a previous set up, PM1 speakers and Russ Andrews audio interconnects connected from my Musical Fidelity A1008 Cd player. I have read on this forum that "pops & bangs" when turning on and off Naim equipment is the norm but can this be right and if so...

Hi, Just wondering about Naim not offering anything in the portable offering space. Is there a market for this? Over the years, my listening on the main system has decreased and I tend to do the majority of my listening whilst travelling or commuting. Quality wise, it's pretty good with a combination of lossless source (Tidal), good DAC (Chord Mojo) and some good closed back headphones (B&W P7 wireless). This seems to be a growth area as the number of high quality portable headphones...

Set up the GCC Audio this evening and I have to say I'm very pleasantly surprised. Connected via Toslink Optical to my Chord 2Qute streaming Tidal it sounds a lot better than the Raspberry Pi I was using before and is so much easier to use. I have made other changes to my system since I had the ND5XS and I'm relying on memory but the GCC Audio sounds better listening to Linn Jazz radio and Radio Paradise via the Tunein app which were two of my go to stations on the Naim app I'm pretty amazed...

In sound quality that is. I’m prompted because due to several reasons, the sound quality varies in fidelity.

Hi: I purchased a used Unitiqute 2 and received it today, but the seller didn't find the remote in time to include it in the shipment. It's en route but I'm wondering if there's some way I can set up the unit in the meantime? Robert

Are the passive ATC SCM40 Mk1's a good match for Nap 300 and are they as power hungry as I have read? Will SCM19 be a better match? I have heard the ATC SCM11's many times and love the sound. I always buy used and so demos can be difficult.

I've recently made 2 major upgrades to my system and I'm astounded by the results! Firstly I had the opportunity to purchase some ATC SCM 19's with stands to replace my PMC 20.23's. These ATC's are brilliant. I've never heard a midrange like it. I tried the PMC's again afterwards and it was as if the midrange was subdued. The Bass is far better, just as deep but with real texture and power, it makes the PMC's sound flabby by comparison. The Treble on the ATC's is also much better defined.

Hi, I am using a DAC-V1 connected directly to a Mac mini via USB and utilising Roon as the player. I have been experimenting around with the upsampling capabilities of Roon (and HQPlayer) to see if it makes a positive difference to SQ. In order to minimise upsampling load within the DAC-V1, I would like send all audio streams directly in the format that the DAC-V1 uses internally before amplification. Is this information available? I am currently upsampling to 24/384 within Roon and I am...

hey all, I think the subject is self explanatory : I’m seriously thinking about treat myself for upcoming weeks and buying a pair is neat motive sx2 but there’s only one problem: Neat is not distributed in France; any longer. Do you know of a brisith retailer likely to ship overseas? Many thanks to all in advance for your help P.S: in the meantime; my Atom still sounds dope with my PM1 speakers

Hi all, I have recently purchased a pair of Ovator S-400, and currently am using them with a nord (nc500 twin hypex ncore 700w 4ohm) stereo power amp and auralic altair which previously has provided plenty of power and bass drive. with the ovators in place there seems to be a lack of bass power/drive, im not technical so trying to understand if it Is the class D power amp and switching to naim power would produce the required bass that I should be hearing or is this a trait of the ovators.

This weekend I've tried my CD5x without being connected to the Flatcap 2x. Having played through a number of cd's there's a noticeable difference once the Flatcap 2x removed. The sound is presented with a greater richness to the tone and noticeably more heft in the bass, with kick drum and bass a little more evident. Reconnecting the Flatcap made the sound appear a little brighter and leaner sounding but also lost the nice richness that I was getting without the Flatcap. Im going to spend a...

Many moons ago I managed a hifi shop in Salt Lane Salisbury, before it became the first Naim HQ. Until I met Julian I had progressed through Quad and Radford valve amps partnered with my stalwart Tannoy 15" Lancasters. In the early 1980s I started my Naim journey with a NAC42/NAP110 manufactured at his home. I still have both - although the NAP 110 has been upgraded to a 140. They've travelled around the world with me. My Linn SP12 has stayed with me as well, staying silent through the CD...

First post – so please excuse any etiquette infringement. I have not had any Naim products before and not changed my music system for a long time. My research has led me to Star as it seems to combine high quality with the simplicity of ‘all in one box’ Given the recent release of the product and that it was a major engineering challenge I’d be interested in learning any information about patches, upgrades, known problems etc. I am in the ‘plug and play’ demographic. If there are any known...

I'm hoping somene can help me. I'm using iTunes (I like it!) and considering using a little iTunes eq on some bass heavy tracks to reduce bass, the remaining tracks untouched so that playback remains bit perfect. iTunes has a useful feature in that you can apply iTunes eq settings to individual tracks that will activate automatically during playback. The only issue with this is that you have to leave iTunes eq switched on with the 'flat' setting. I was hoping V1 owners could run this through...

Sad but perhaps fortunate dilemma due to recent Grandfather's will... Presently I am delighted with what I have, wish I could upload a picture: HDX with 1.5 Tb music + nDAC + 555 PS 252 + SC2 DR 300 DR Monitor Audio PL 200s nVi + nSUB + nCENT + Monitor Audio Studio 20 SE NACA5 + Powerlines Nonetheless I am considering two options: 1) Changing the 252 SC2 DR for 552 DR 2) Changing the nDAC for NDS and getting a second PS 5555 (I want to keep my HDX as source). So maybe the question in the...

Chaps, Another speaker cable thread I'm afraid. I've been trying Signature TA interconnects in my system with I must say very encouraging results. Next logical step would be to consider Signature Reference speaker cable. Interested to hear if anyone has experience particularly in a Naim/Kudos configuration. Regards, Lindsay

Hello everyone in this wonderful forum, which is extremely interesting and useful for me! I recently updated my system with new Naim Dac V1 and Nap 200 that is already at 10 years old. I am very happy with the progress I made, but I think soon you may need to have a full Nap200 service. I would like to ask if he can get the service from the authorized service center here in Bulgaria, or will I have to send to UK? Please excuse me for my poor English. Thank you very much!

Hi, Just joined the forum and need some advice on my SBL's either about setup or upgrades or replacement. My system dates back to the late 80's but was in store for about 15-20 years when kids arrived! About 5 years ago I dragged it all out of store and set it up. The system is a Roksan Xersex/SME V/ Kiseki purple heart - 32.5/Hi-cap/250/SBLs. Since coming out of store the Roksan has been upgraded by inspire hifi with a new plinth and the naim kit serviced by hifi-repairs. The Kiseki stylus...

Good morning, this is my first post in your forum, and I'm very gratefull to write here. I have got a Naim pre nac 112x + nap 150x + flatcap 2. I want substitute the nac 112x with a new performing one preamplifier, at the moment I could proove a Nac 62 (olive series). My question is: Can I connect the nac 62 to the nap 150x or to Flatcap2 ? If I can, how to do it? Best Regards

Hello! I am about to buy a N272 and a 200DR alt 250DR . Then ive had Linn earlier but want to try something new and i dont like their later equipment. When it comes to speakers ive looked at PMC twenty5 23 and Neat sx5i. I will not be able to test before buying, Neat i can get for a good price. I have always liked Linns previous speakers like Kaber, Keltik, Isobarik, Kan, Katan and Espek. So the question is what do you think will fit me and the system best? Kind regards Morgan

Have you made any unnecessary purchases or hifi investments latley or in the past that you regret? Do you sometimes think about the amount of money you've lost over the years due to upgrades or equipment changes? Or do you instead choose to see it in a more positive way and that it's part of the learning curve?
