This week I rebuilt my 500 series kit from scratch after having the livingroom redecorated. It's quite a palver building two stacks taking into account best practice as regards box placement, cable dressing and the like. There's a bit of a sheen to the sound at the moment that I'm sure will go away when it all gets warmed up. Hi all, I have enjoyed my system for about 4 years and think I have the upgrade bug now and was wondering what the forum would recommend. I have Nac 172, Nap 250.2 and B&W 805d speakers. Yes , this topic has been discussed extensively. And yes, the search engine still exists. But maybe new owners of Supernait 2 might want to share their experience? "500 hours" has often been referred to as a turning point. S o once again... is this the case or is this " perceived harshness " infact the revelaing of source, speakers or room acoustics ... or is it simply a character trait?

had a frightening experience a few months ago when i experienced a huge shock when the 552 discharged the electrostatic buildup on its case -- all the buttons on the 552 panel lit up -- no sound. Power cycle -- and then the lights were normal again. has anyone else ever experienced this? did you find the cause? how did you fix it? etc etc... enjoy ken

My old ndx is about 5 years old .it’s display was got dark and never get bright again. We kown our old notebook’s display is always can get it work ,why ndx’s ?

I had a demo of Magico S1 mk2 in a non Naim system and they impressed with its neutrality, control and resolution. Possibly they lacked some scale and "smoothness", but still impressed with its strong points for me to consider a home demo. Anybody on the forum who own or auditioned these speakers and are willing to share your experiences? (My system is cds3/lp12/252/300)

anybody use the supernait 2 as a preamp for the nap 250dr like to know your thoughts on this.

I am running Dynaudio Focus 160s for my 282/200. I love them and they work well in my room. It is a long shot, but has anybody compared the Focus 160s to the new Special 40s? The drives are a slight upgrade, on paper, but is the end result a marked improvement or barely discernible? They are a bit more affordable than the Contour 20s, although the Contours do look stunning....

Hi to all, I'm thinking of buying a second hand Naim Uniti which is around 7 years old but it has 24/192khz printed near the Ethernet socket so does that mean it's had a 24/192 upgrade? I'm told it has been back to Naim for an upgrade so it can run the latest Naim App. Cheers Guys ��

Has anyone tried these under their speakers? Similar concept to Townsend bars / platforms but using some kind of elastomer type isolation rather than springs. Seemed to do a good job on the Sopra 2s, if the switching between speakers was all above board in terms of electronics and volume levels in the demo at Indulgence today.

i can't believe that the atom is now in the wild and posts berating Naim still seem more active. Surley there are quite a few of you that have sound waves dancing operatically around your rooms which started their lives being shunted through Ethernet to the atom. And they sound like? and the app works like? and chromecast ( my money is on this causing the delays) how does it function/sound? ssshh has anyone tried to see if Roon "sees the atom" ? dont be bashful.

I have a carpeted suspended wooden floor and so put Granite slabs under my Dynaudio floorstanders to protect the carpet and to try and help tune the bass. This morning because I couldn't get at the dust beneath the speaker's I lifted the speakers off and and then decided to try the system without the Granite and got a very pleasant surprise better clarity and separation it is as if the Granite deadened the sound a bit.

I am currently using a passive pre with an old Chrome Bumper 250 amp. It sounds stunning. I hate not having a Naim preamp on my rack but it is alive with warmth, speed dynamics, and attack. Hi all. As you can see, I have a NAC 152 XS pre amp, this has Flatcap XS which also powers the CD5 XS CDplayer. The power amp is the NAP 155 XS. Naim state that the Headline can't be used with the 152 XS, which nay be too much to spend for my needs. First impressions of 282/300 set up on Hutter Rack with a wall shelved LP12 are very, very good the 300 takes much better control of the speakers even at low volumes. Hello All, I have decided to go with ProAc loudspeakers for my room. I know that people here have quite some experience with ProAcs in their room and hence seeking their opinion. My room is 15' X 18' X 8'. This is a dedicated room with some room treatment. The current speaker positions are 5 1/2 feet from back wall and 3 1/2 feet from side wall. Total newbie to quality hifi taking my first tentative steps and I’ve just purchased a Uniti Atom.
