I was wondering if anyone is using a sub with a Superuniti? I'm running PMC Twenty5.21 speakers as front and have been trying out my old B&W ASW610 sub from my 5.1 set up in a 2.1 from the Superuniti. Up until now i have been using the Superuniti into a Pioneer AV amp to run the PMC front speakers with small B&W centre and rears off the Pioneer. I have a 272 on demo and have had the chance to compare my bare CDX2 against both lossless CD rips and HIFI Tidal. The results have surprised me. Firstly I'm really surprised at the poor audio quality on tidal. I was expecting to hear beautiful lossless FLAC files flowing from the system. But the sound is a little flat. There's a loss of dynamics and everything sounds disappointingly dull. Switch to the CDX2 and music is flowing again and there's a smile on my face. Now the next comparison...

All of us know that to check if a system is on, one puts one's ear against the tweeter to hear a hiss. I presume that 'hiss' is the interference the system makes e.g. the electronics. What else could it be? So... one may hypothesise that this hiss volume negatively correlates as one moves up the system hierarchy. Furthermore, does that mean when the hiss is zero, the hifi has reached perfection?!

Right, took me till 2 in the morning to sort out the set up (long story of woe) but the new P6 is all set up. I chose to have an Exact instead of the Ania fitted because of the limitations of of my Nait 3, and because it was cheaper. First playing sounded pretty darn good, but I guess the real test will be in a couple of weeks when its all bedded down nicely. 45 came out over 33 as I usually find but its all sounding very promising at this early stage. Dear all Kindly advise if you will place the captioned device on the Fraim, not Fraimlite. Do you think it makes no difference in sonic performance whether it was placed on the Fraim or on the floor? Is it quite expensive in doing so? Thanks for your advice. Cheers, Patrick

I'm planning one upgrade this autumn, but can't decide whitch! It's very tempting to get rid of my Kef Ref 205.2. I have used them for 7 years so maybe it's time to sell them and try something else. I am looking at an early run CDS head unit . Please don't comment on the fact that these Cd players are risky. or that the Grey Burndy cable can be converted. My question is: Will the Black Burndy fit the CDS connector on the back of the player? What about a late production CDS? Thanks.

My friend has an 82 that has very low volume when playing vinyl. The phono boards are 526/1s. Hes not happy at all since he has hundreds of albums. I know nothing about phono. What does he need to be able to hear music? Thanks

I'm using a pair of recently recaped NAP150X (one for each speaker) to feed my KEF LS50 and I am getting excellent results, but I wonder if a change to a used NAP250.2 can be a worthwhile improvement, since I have no doubt that the amazing LS50 can get to another level. Does anyone have experience with the 150X to 250.2 upgrade? By the way, I use the NAC122X/Flatcap 2X as a preamplifier, and NAC A5 speaker cables.

I've borrowed a Powerline Lite so thought it best to ask where to optimise it best in my system. I have a Cd5x and LP12 as sources the LP12 has a Heed Orbit 1. I have a Naim 122x Pre and 150x Power Amp and a Flatcap. Would it be better connected to 122x, 150x or Flatcap ? Also, is there a typical run in time period before the Powerline Lite will come on song ?

Just wondering how these top Naim CDPs compared to each other. I have CDS2 for several years and have a "new to me" CDS3 for 3 months now. From my experience in my system and room the CDS3 is just in a different league to the CDS2 in terms of musical engagement, prat, detail etc. So for me CDS3 is the best so far. So i am wondering how CDS1, CDS2, CDS3 and CD555 compared to each other? What are the strength and "weakness" of each model? Looking forward to hearing your comments and experiences.

My 2011 SN freez up now and then. Sometimes it works for weeks without freez and sometimes 2x a week. Before the freez problem occur SQ suddenly becomes dull and liveless and then the SN freez. It will not respond at all by remote or the front buttons. Turn power off and on again cures this problem. I use a plasma tv (not connected to the SN) but even when the tv is off freez can occur. The DAC is connected to a Sonos Connect. But even when the dig inputs are set to analoque freez can occur.

I'm thinking of upgrading my Kef LS50's to a pair of Neat Motive SX2's, does anybody run a pair of the Neat's with a basic XS system (XS2 & CD5 XS) and if so what might I expect from the change. Hello from a new to Naim user. It's a bit of a long story but I bought 2 pairs of K.A.R. Volante evolution speakers some time ago. The bass drivers were not in the best of condition so I sent them away for refurbishment and they are now en route back to myself. Does anyone have any experience of these speakers ? I'll be using them with my Nait 5i-2 and Nac A5 cable. Thanks for any light anyone can shed as there's not much information out there in relation to these beautiful looking speakers.

not sure if it's super smart to have all those funds tied into the 552. Thinking of letting it go. The nac272/555/300 comes fairly close to the nds/555/552/300 - close enough at any rate. thoughts? dont really need the funds - but the 20K will be worth 100K in 20yrs... or the 20K, as part of a down payment for a second home, will be worth a hell of lot more due to leverage... what does it mean to be able to 'afford' something?

Quick one - i take it the old Naits (1 & 2) need 3.5m min of NAC 4/5 (or LCR similar cable) ? I suspect yes but just wanted to check. Ta James
