I was lucky enough to be a relatively early recipient of the Chord Hugo 2. I've had it for over a month and resisted the temptation to post anything until I've had a chance to do a lot of listening. I read the hype on this forum for years and eventually decided to let me own ears decide. I did a home demo of Hugo 1 against my nDAC. It was clear the sound I preferred was the Hugo and as such placed an order for Hugo 2. For easy reference my system is a Unitiserve, Hugo 2 (was nDAC), 202 +...

As I cannot find my previous thread regarding TQ Silver and NACA5 comparison (I can only assume there was content that was not quite kosher by naim for some reason). Can I ask another question here & if it is again in breach of forum rules Richard, please take for action however please make it known in the thread so I do not repeat the mistake. I said that on switching from a factory fresh set of TQ Silver 2 speaker cables and link set that the NACA5 seemed better on switching. Someone...

When did naim start the dr what year.
NFGPosted: 19 July 2017Last Updated: 31 July 2017
Ive been waiting for a Stageline for four weeks, dealer has been contacting Naim frequently but no news yet. Not impressed by Naims inability to supply a relatively simple piece of kit. I shall be passing Salisbury on Friday & could collect it if it were ready.

Hi folks, Just about to substitute my 15 year old Linn Ikemi for a new CDX2. The whole system except the Ikemi is Powerlined (252, NDX, 300, NDAC and XPS2 on the NDAC). Question: given that the CDX2 will be used only as a transport, is there any benefit in putting a Powerline on it? All feedback welcome! Cheers George

Hi all just thought i would share my own experience of changing my amp. The super nait in comparison to xs produces a much bigger wider soundstage and the organisation of music is fantastic. The one thing that really stands out is you hear the texture to instruments and voices. I have connected my flat cap to it from the word go so I don't know what it sounds like on its own, but I'm loving what i hear so I don't really mind.

Guys, Educate me. My 282 is wired to its HC with a single SNAIC. I understand that if I have a SC there are 2 wires. Are they both venemous or does one just carry the audio signal? Regards, Lindsay

I attended the event today. My thanks to Alastair and Andy of Signals and Derek and Dave of Kudos for a most enjoyable (and potentially expensive!) musical experience. The 707's (on 552/500) sounded flippin' gorgeous. Ditto the 606's on 252/300. The fun continues tomorrow. John.

I am interested or perhaps curious to know how the 13 x 24V outputs from the Supercap DR are split to both NAC 282 and NAC 252. If my guess is correct, the full 13 x 24V are supplied to the NAC 252 with the Burndy connection, and 2 x (2 x 24V) are supplied to the NAC 282 as shown in the diagrams below. Is my understanding correct? 2 x (2 x 24V) on NAC 282 13 x 24V on NAC 252

Hi Members had a new pair of BW Cm10 running in my system for the last 10 days gave them plenty of running in 24/7 but there just was no bass I thought it might be my Supernait 2 with hi cap just not having enough power my dealer dropped off a pair of ex dem 804D3 which I have hooked up about a hour ago I now have great highs mid and the Bass is sounding tight paid £5500 which I think is a good price that they retail at £6750 yes I know my next upgrade will be a 280 and 250 they have ex dem...

I have the opportunity to demo a pair of Kudos X2 at home and am also interested in a pair of Spendor A5r that I cannot listen to for various reasons at home. I would like some opinion about which of these would be most suited 6 inches away from a rear wall, but well away from corners in terms of bass. I use a Naim nait xs in a room 21ft by 10ft, listening across the shorter width. My current speakers are PMC 20.21.

Have any forum members purchased the Naim cd vibration disc or other manufacturers vibration cd discs? They are supposed to absorb vibration and reduce laser reflection, improve soundstage, imaging, separation of instruments ect ect ect My question is simply, do they work?

Big Brown assures me that my new NAP 300DR will be delivered within 48 hours, which is great news. I will, however, then have to make a decision on how to rack the two new units, as space is very tight. I have a bespoke custom made rack built from heavy duty solid cherry, as well as a 4-bin (2 over 2) cherry LP storage unit which holds approximately 200 LPs next to that. I have neither the interest nor the funds to change the current racking situation in the near term, although long term...

Curious one this. Some speakers need to be close to the wall for bass, others do not. So I posit that ones with space behind sound better. Why? Because the bass comes from the well designed speaker and not the wall! There must be a consensus here.

Interestingly, in my system, I did not see an earth shaking difference between Shawline RCA RCA and a Sarum Super Array RCA RCA. Yes the Sarum sounds a more complete. But £180 to £2000 isn't a good move. Components first is a wise move. I think you really have to have some very expensive kit to justify these sort / price range of cables. I don't think my kit is there. For reference my system: Innuos Zenith (Powerline) 15cm stock micro USB Hugo Chord Shawline (Demo of Sarum) Sugden A21 /...

The 152XS can be powered by two separate external power supplies. Can someone please explain which section(s) of the pre each psu input powers, and which deserves the better of the two external supplies?

The introduction of a Chord Hugo DAC in my system means my DIN to DIN Hi-Line is no longer necessary right for my configuration, I now need a 2 RCA to DIN Hi-Line, these seem hard to get hold of on the used market, so I thought I would see if Naim would be prepared to re-terminate, I was disappointed to be told they wouldn't as they didn't want a slightly shorter Hi-Line in the field. Seems a bit nonsensical to me, it's my cable, I own it, if re-terminating is possible (which Chord do...

Anyone heard any of the latest versions of the Sarum cables? Upgrading all my cables except speaker cables to Sarum Super Aray wasn't particularly sexy or cheap but the results were superb.

One of my naim arriva speakers-(cherry finish) is now a bit lighter than the other. I cant remember which was nearer the window ..do they lighten in brighter light or does the cherry veneer darken? Thanks
ConsciousmessPosted: 26 July 2017Last Updated: 27 July 2017
I have seen this elsewhere with other manufacturers, so making it all come from one socket - perhaps shared earthing and less need for multiple sockets? But is there a reason why Naim avoids this??
