Hi Newbie to the forum hoping someone can help. I have a new(ish) Samsung TV plugged into my NAC252 (new to me, but second hand) via a CYP AU-D3-192 DAC, which was recommended by and purchased from a Naim main dealer. I have Ovator S400s and didn't want, or need, a sound bar or surround sound due to expense and clutter. The sound is very good, but every 30 seconds or so the sound dips, and then back to normal. I've looked at all the menus on the TV and set the sound to PCM, which I've seen...

I use a 202 200 and have just got a good deal on a used supercap. Now one day this will be used with a 282 252 or superline, but question for now is can I use the second 5 pin din output via slic lead as a napsc upgrade? I know it's 24v and napsc is 18v but this doesn't seem to be a problem for the headline. This same question was asked in 2011 on a 202 supercap thread but not answered..

Hi I'm going to purchase NAP250DR+NAC272. Is the cable connecting them included in the package or should I purchase a cable separately? If so . So what cable I need? THANKS SHARON

Okay, I've been on a bit of an upgrade kick lately. I've added an HDX, DAC, and 555 PS Hi-Line to my 252, SC, 250.2, NBL's. I also have an upgrade LP-12 but with 2 kiddos (8 week old and 2 year old), my turntable isn't seeing a lot of use. I've seen a couple non-DR NAP 300's hit the used market for about half of a new DR version and thinking about taking the dive. I've read a lot about the 300 but have never heard one. A 500 seems like the perfect fit for the NBL's but I think the 300 would...

I see a Linn Ninka available for sale locally. Is this a worthwhile purchase in 2017? This was the speaker that I heard my first Naim equipment on. It was with a Nait 3 I believe. I have always been haunted by how amazing that system sounded. I couldn't afford it then and I find myself in a similar situation now. I just need speakers to finish off my system, but nothing I really want is affordable lots of PRAT which is what I want. I could power it with my Qute or Rogue Tube Amp.

Living in an English semi-detached house with poor sound insulation, the enjoyment of music at late hour is severely compromised. A good pair of headphones should be the solution! I started reading up on how to choose headphones, and headphone impedance appears a critical issue. This makes me wonder about the ideal headphone impedance for the XS2/SN2 headphone amplifier -- it is my understanding that the two Naits share the same Class A headphone amplifier. Advice would be most appreciated...

Hi, I've read some forum posts here about how to go about connecting a headphone amp to a NaitXS so I went to a local hifi / electronics shop and had a DIN to RCA cable wired up to the Monitor DIN pins. I connected it all up tonight and things seem to be working but I was wondering if there was another way to do this. I have my source connected to CD RCA in. The DIN to RCA cable for the amp is connected to the HDD Output which goes into the RCA input on my headphone amp. When my headphone...

I have just got my nap180 back and it has not got the expected ITT ' BHC ' or S.L.C.E caps in ...It has been serviced by Darran at Class A.. looked these capacitors up and they seem a little cheap..They are supplied by RS.. Can anyone help ??

Dear folks, I am so happy with the performance of my little Petite SX tonight. Actually, I don't know why it performs so well which is out of my expectation and I never listened to such a pair of speakers in elsewhere including the showroom. I just drive the Petite SX by using NAP150x which is 50W only and it drive them well in my eyes without over-drive them or under-drive them. Back to the topic I raised, first, I listened much harmonics than before and much low-level details even the...

I had an inspiring afternoon today. An Italian room acoustics expert visited my house to improve my room acoustics. He was around for the Munich show and could combine it with his visit. He was walking around in my room by clapping in his hands and listening what happened. Then the adaptation process started. And it was amazing for me how much more focused the sound became after his first adjustments. Then we continued to the topic of too much bass weight. We first got the speakers a bit...

I've just moved house and the one compromise I need to make it on speaker cabling. I'm looking for any suggestions for a good quality thin white cable that would work well with my Super Uniti & Focal Aria 926's. Only require about 2.5 metres each side. Thank you

Recently had a radial circuit installed. The electrician has used 20 amp mcb. Looking through previous posts on the subject people are talking about 50 amps. I would like to know is there an increased risk in this rating and if they are safe to use how are they beneficial to sound. Thanks in advance Mike

Two members tried the Chord STA DIN/XLR on the thread below but it was locked. http://forums.naimaudio.com/topic/hi-line-vs-chord-signature-tuned-array?reply=62669565743179316 Alan found an improvement with the STA used between the 250DR and Supercap DR while RobT thought the STA killed the sound when used with the XPS DR and 300DR. A question to Alan. You mentioned the hiss with the tweeter was eliminated with the Chord and it sounded a lot quieter. My experience with the STA was the same...

I've spent the last week trawling the internet (particularly this forum) but haven't been able to find a definitive answer to my question, which is: What will be the detrimental impact, if any, of using speaker cables of different lengths in my new system? The specifics are: 272, 555PS, 250DR, ProAc K6s. Speaker cable at present is Chord Epic Twin, 2 x 5 metre lengths. It is soon to be replaced by Chord Epic Reference. This is not a cost issue - quite prepared to shell out for 10 metres of...

I'm upgrading to a NAP 250DR poweramp and will be temporairly be using it to power my NAIT XS2 integrated instead of the NAIT's internal power amp. NAIM's connection instructions are unclear to me: after I remove the link plug, do I reset the NAIT amp mode (by holding in the "mute" button when powering on), or not? Also, am I correct in understanding that the NAP250 interconnect should be connected to the NAIT "power amp in" socket? Many thanks for any help!

Hi Not been on for quite some time, but I've put my time away to good use by amassing even more music, going to lots of gigs and much drinking of gin. Anyhow, I have a problem with my 180, as follows... The amp is susceptible to RF interference from my DAC (and I'd guess interference from any other source) Switch the DAC off, the noise disappears. Luckily the amp is three shelves away from the DAC, but if anything reflects it back, like having the door open, it's there. However, this is most...

Hi all I'm about to enter the headphone market for the first time and it seems to be more varied than selecting the right speakers so I'm hoping the forums members might be able to point me in the right direction before I make a purchase. First a few basics, the phones must be a closed back design (the other half does not want to hear what I'm listening too) and will be plugged directly into the headphone socket on my XS2 (no desire or space on my rack to add a dedicated amp) source is CD 5...
