The naim cds3 is it a good step up from the cdx2/xps

Althought the subject of 272 vs classic streamers/preamps has been exhaustively debated I would still like to ask for advice regarding amplification in my set up moving forward. The key difference (and the reason for creating a new post) is the "constraint" of already owing an ND level source. My current system comprises of NDX + XP5 PS plus an analog source driven by an integrated amp into 89db / 4Ohm speakers. Room is L-shaped with about 60m^2 area. Budget- wise I have two possibilities...

I've just responded to advice given in a previous thread regarding upgrading my CD5X to CDX2 and gone and done it. First impressions are very favourable, the player being very musical. Not all comments about the CDX2 player on forums are so positive so I am pleasantly surprised. I've also tried the spdif out from the CDX2 to my only dac and my Streamagic has never sounded so good! As always with Naim players there is always in the back of the mind that the electronics is designed to work...

I have recently acquired a set of pre-owned fraim shelving which, after minor tweaking, now comprises two base levels; a tall legged shelf; and nine standard height shelves. Hi, I just want to share my latest experience driving my NAP250DR by a Resonessence Concero HD DAC directly. As I greatly prefer the sound of my DAC when fed with material upsampled to DSD128 by means of HQPlayer software on my own built, fairly strong audio PC I did an experiment driving the power amp directly by the DAC and controlling the volume in the software. Recently went from a Synology NAS (DS 212+) to QNAP TS-453A - and like two black box upgrades. Don't even need the UnitiServ anymore. System now is NDS/555DR - 552 (DR) - Nap 300 (Non-DR) into Kudos Super 20s. Any thoughts on upgrade ideas? Not sure whether DRing the Nap 300 is a worthwhile move. Nap500DR seems a step too far (not ready for it). Maybe speaker change/upgrade? Or probably best to stay put...

Hi, currently I'm running my NDX with XPS. Have been pretty enjoying the sound so far but still feel there's room of upgrades in terms of bass section (lack of thumping & deep bass). Hi there, Not sure if this is sacrilege but.. Don't really have enough space for an alternative set of speakers for playing stuff off an iPod, nor enough money to buy a decent Bluetooth speaker, so was hoping to use one of the empty slots on my NAC12s preamp to run my iPod through speakers? I'm sure this will have been done to death over the years but my search skills are not up to scratch. Is there any concensus on the minimum sensible distance from the back leg face to the wall behind to ensure cable dressing is achievable, particularly burndies and hi-lines? Hi, I've had a 272 on trial recently, and it's time to move it on. The "What comes with what" guide here on the forum hasn't yet caught up with the 272, and this one didn't arrive here with the cables needed to connect to a power amp, which didn't matter, as I was using an external power supply.
