Hi Folks, Does anyone have any experience with both of these cd players that can give me a detailed comparison?

I like cd players and my cd2x, still buy cos, specially I think it is a perfect time for classical fans for cd ownership, all those excellent box sets with good prices.. I own a 9 year old CD2X, that I bought brand new, using it with a tpxs and chord sta din to din, connected to my 272 which I am pretty happy.. But I always got my eyes on cd555, it is like a teenage dream something that a I can only dream of when it first released but now maybe I can, if I don't go to vacation or not buy any...

Hello, Is RCA cable to DIN cable suitable from Hugo RCA to XS2 DIN connectors? Also, would I be better with a second hand Chord Sig Tuned Array RCA RCA. Or a new Chord Chorus RCA DIN? Both around £500. I may upgrade to SN2 soon. Thanks Adam

I'll be adding an FM radio to my equipment soon. My dealer keeps tempting me with a CB NAT01 but easthetics means I'm probably more likely to go for an NAT05. Any tips or traps to look out for in purchasing a high quality external FM aerial?

Bought a Nait 5Si recently along with a pair of Kudos X2s and have been delighted with the improvement over my previous Rega Mira (Mk1) and R3's. My dealer mentioned that the power switch is located at the rear of the Nait 5Si to discourage users from turning it off. Whilst I don't doubt him is it really the case that it performs better if left permanently powered up? Obviously I turn the volume down or mute the speakers, and the display off when not in use. Thanks.

I wonder if there was any Naim integrated amplifier that would sound soft , kind of rolled off in highs. I was thinking about the Naim Supernait as the perfect choice for such soft sounding Naim, but I need to know the opinions of those who have tried different Naim integrated amplifiers. Please post your feedback, it will help us all make the right choice. Cheers.

upgraded from superuniti to 272/250dr buyers remorse perhaps, but should I have purchased the 300 rather than having to spend the same money on a xpsdr?

Hi all, I'm trying to plan my upgrade path for the next couple of years until I end up with the desired system. I know it is best to home demo all equipment before purchase - however when building from "scratch" adding one black box at a time, it is hard to bring home two full setups and compare. My current setup is the following: * Nuc PC with Roon (streaming lossless rips from my NAS and Tidal-HIFI) * Cambridge DacMagic * Naim Nait XS (the XS model just in between the original XS and the...

Out of curiosity has anyone tried the above? Currently running an 82 with one (olive) hicap, CDI and 250 into Rega Elas. (and finally NACA5!) and also a hiline. All the Naim equipment has been very recently serviced and the NACA5 is new. What would a hicap dr bring as opposed to say two olive hicaps or a supercap? Just curious! Many thanks!

are the NDS burndys for the 555PS the same as the CD555 burndys to the 555PS

You may not know yet that ProAc has just updated the D30 to D30S. It is still available in a dome or ribbon tweeter - Response D30DS and D30RS respectively. ProAc claims having developed a new 17.5 cm bass driver using a cone made from pulp and Mica, similar to the one used in their D48, to replace the 16.5 cm carbon fiber cone speaker of the original D30 for a flatter response. Note that the cabinet dimensions will stay the same. Hopefully they have solved the issue of a little too warm of...

Can someone please explain what is meant by the term Boogie, apparently Naim Audio is very good at it as are LP12's and some speakers such as Mk 1 Kans excel in Boogieing. As a child of the 70's the word Boogie conjours up visions of John Travolta dancing away to Night Fever so unless half the members of this forum are dancing around their HiFi equipment in white suits to late 70's Disco my definition is all wrong and while we are at it what is it about Naim Audio that has you all foot tapping!

Hi, I am wondering what my next upgrade should be. I have a Bluesound Node 2 feeding lossless files to a Chord Mojo. I have a Naim 202/200 combination with a non Naim PSU. Speakers (after a few changes) are Dynaudio Focus 160s. To be honest, I have the annual upgradeitis. My system, to me, sounds pretty good. It is balanced, no real weak areas. Pricewise, I think that it is well matched as a middle runner. Compared to my first hifi, it is stunning (sometimes we forget how far we have come).

Folks, to complete my Naim-Chain I bought a CD5i for my Nait XS as I do not have a lot of CDs. Sounds excellent compared to my loved NAD CD 512 which sounds still pretty good! Listening stream from spotify via bluetooth from my iPad 1 via Phillips Bluetooth Adapter hooked with van den hul NF to the XS sounds really good. Music from my notebook via USB and Arcam rDac also ok! But.... Let's go the above mentioned Naca5 - Uuuhh .... The Naca5? .... Yessss ... YES! The Naca5! Discussed and...

Been reading up on interconnects here on the forum. This hasn't brought me any further however... a whole bunch of people say the standard Naim Ic is just the way it should be, the way Naim intents their products to sound then you have the hi line owners who say the hi line is just a lot better. They tend to back this by using the standard hifi gibberish (depth, darker blacks etc). then there's some people asking about interconnects from other manufacturers such as Cardas or Chord. They are...

Dear all, I started out with CD5 XS + Nait XS, but after switching the XS to N272+N250 DR, everything improved but mid range tone, especially male vocal, seems to move further back in the soundstage. Anyone may have a solution on how to tackle this issue? The CD play remains the same and for speaker Focal 1027be.

I listen to mainly vinyl on a high spec LP12 and have continued with a prefix k. Through an olive system consisting of 52, Supercap x2, 242, 250 x2 (HF) and IBLs. All recently serviced. It is the best thing I have heard and has evolved over many years. I found a Hicap for the prefix was a very worthwhile upgrade. I think the comments that the powered input on the 52 is preferable for the prefix are not valid if the LP12 is high spec, that is my experience anyway. I am now trying a Hicap DR,...

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about buying a used LP12 that my dealer has with the valhalla power supply. He is recommending updating it to the majik but after reading some of the forums I'm wondering if that's a downgrade. Anyone here have any advice? Ken

Finally, after about a year of trying to get this to happen, I had a chance to listen to Kudos Super 20a in my system last weekend. Its a revelation of what these speakers are actually capable of. Once we had a very satisfactory sounding system following quite a lot of set-up, we cracked on with listening to some tracks. Along for the ride, friend R has been listening to these speakers for around 3 years now and has been through a good few system upgrades during that time, so he's very...

Hi, I have a NAC 272, NAP 200 and Audiovector Si3 Super speakers. I consider doing an upgrade and have three options: NAP 250 DR instead of NAP 200 Keep the NAP 200 and add a power supply, XPS DR Upgrade the speakers to SR3 Avantgarde (they can be sent to Audiovector for the upgrade) Of course the goal is to do all three options but which one should I do first? If I go for the NAP 250 DR option, is it a good idea to keep the NAP 200 and biamp?

Ok, I think it's time to move on from my Chord Mojo (being used as a desktop DAC) to a more serious offering from Chord. As some of you know, I struggled to find a matching amp for my Dyn's and finally settled with a preloved Supernait 1. The transport is the new Oppo UDP-203. Following the advice from many forum members, I placed an order for a new HiCap DR (not yet delivered), a pair of TQ Ultra Black speaker cable (not yet delivered), and a TQ UB RCA-RCA interconnect (delivered). I also...

Hi all, After 3 months with arrival of our newborn babygirl and some time at home away from work to also enjoy my new speakers, its time to share back especially to those of you guys that helped me along the journey, incl. Foot Tapper, Bodger and Polarbear. In short, I was very happy with Kudos Super20 until we move to a new place with a much larger living space. They could not fill the room and sound became bright, as bas/mid lacked in new setting. At same time, I wanted to find a speaker...
