Hi Mates, Could a NAP250DR drive a pair of SCM 40 speakers properly to the above average (loud) sound level ? Speaker sensivity (on paper) 'only' 85 dB 1w/1m. My room is about 5 x 3 meters, speakers should be placed along the short wall, discance from back wall is about 1 m and 40 cm from side walls. Listening position is about 2 m from the speakers. Any personal experience ? Thx in advance.

What to do.....my current setup is Superline with HiCap DR on a Rega P9 and Apheta 2. I've heard quite a bit of positive feedback on the Aria and it has me wondering if I'm on the right path. Would it perform as well? I also have a line on a used IOS at a nice price, which is intriguing. I guess my dilemma is this; the next step on the SL is a rather pricey SC DR. Should I switch horses and apply the future investment elsewhere in my system? Should I get the IOS and sell the SL/HC? Can't...

To share an advisory tale on Sky Q. I had ordered and have just had installed a Sky Q box and a Sky Q mini box - It was initially quite an ordeal with some challenging Sky customer services experiences - but moving on. I had the Sky Q and Sky Q minibox setup with ethernet.. all was ok but I noted my Naim was sounding a little 'dry'.. It was bugging me. Separately I noted that the Sky Q boxes were creating their own Wifi SSIDs even though I was using wired ethernet... I had to get sort...

Is it the medium gray colored 5-pin to 5-pin interconnect (pic attached) that goes with the CD player? I also have a black 5-pin to 5-pin clearly marked Naim Snaic, but that's with other stuff from my NDS so I think that came with the NDS. (NDS has a Hi-Line on it now.) Hey at least I found the link plug. Moderated Post: To ensure post complies with forum rules.

Thinking of adding a NSD to my HDX, 555PS (non -DR). It will be in a 252 / SC2 (DR), 300 (DR), Naim S400 speakers. I'll sell my NDAC to help fund the NDS. I am very, very happy with the HDX,NDAC,555PS source ATM and would like thoughts on others who have switched out their NDAC to the NDS. Previous threads has the change from a NDAC/55PS to a full NDS / 555PS as a differant rather than a solid improvement in sound quality. Another way ahead perhaps could be a speaker change to say a ProAc...

Hello all, So… I have now received my ex dem NDX and Supernait 2. After 4 years of living with a DAC V1 and a NAP100 I finally decided to place myself on the Naim upgrade path and replaced the system in one fell swoop. Current room is large open plan (10m x 4m) and gets a metre wider behind the listening position (kitchen). I use Harbeth P3ESRs. I like the speakers, even though they don't "rock" I am very fond of their sound. The speakers are against the short wall firing into the room. 75cm...

I'm sure someone on the forum has gone through the same quest before. I'm looking for serious bookshelf that will do justice to an NDS/282/300. There is quite a large choice available but where it gets difficult, is finding the few that will do the following well in a 14ft by 16ft room. --> 1. work very well at low volume (sub 60db) 2. can be placed very close to the backwall (up to 40cm/45cm at a push from the front of the speaker to the wall) 3. have dedicated stands with adjustable...

Good Morning. I own a team with CD5XS, FlatcapXS and XS2. Now I am thinking of buying the DAC. I use din lavender. I have consulted the DAC manual, and it is not detailed how to make the DAC connections to my CD5XS and XS2. I would appreciate (and would be useful to other customers) a diagram of the connections between those devices.

I am shortly to become the proud owner of a 552 which will connect with vinyl, and NDS. I have at present a Hi line into my existing 252 and I wonder if I should consider any other interconnect bearing in mind after this purchase I cannot afford a SL! My amps are 2x250 dr active.

Hi I have been reading my way through several post regarding Naim equipment and Dynaudio speakers, but I still haven´t found quite the information I need. Therefore I hope there are some people with some insight that can provide me with some guidance. My question: I have a UnitiQute2 + NAP100, driving a pair of Dynaudio Contour 3.4 LE. However I´m not completely satisfied and now I have the finances to buy a better setup which makes my “new” speakers justice (bought them two years ago…). I...

I recently acquired an NDS/555/ 552/300 (all DR) naim set and verity audio speakers (Parsifal Anniversary). My cables are currently not up to the standards of the electronics (standard burndy interconnects; Chord Odyssey 2 speaker cable). I was hoping to get (independent) advice from the forum members here... thanks in advance.

Dear all, i have been wondering if it's possible to teach the samsung tv remote to change the volume on my uniti2? When I handle the samsung remote to switch channels, it would be nice to be able to also change the volume with the same thing :-) Also, doesn't the uniti2 store the volume for each input seperately? I can't seem to make it do that yet, what do I need to do for it to remember so I don't fall off my couch when switching from a low to a high level source :-) ? thanks for taking...

Out of curiosity and as a possible future upgrade question. I have a 282 with one HC (non DR) and I wonder how substantial the addition of a 2nd HC is? I'm also curious what a second HC actually powers compared to a one HC setup? I know a Supercap might be even better than two HCs but the SC is too expensive for me. Tnx for any views and feedback! Hi I am thinking of replacing my Naim Ovator S400 speakers with Revel Performa F208s. My Preamp is Nac282 powered by NAP 250.2. Is anybody else using the Revels in their setup? My source is NDS and Linn LP20 i would appreciate any comments or feedback on these speakers? thanks

Hello, First post so please move if its in the wrong place. I have a fairly old but very nice naim system of old style 62 with HiCap + NAP100 - The 62 & 100 may be about 30 years old maybe more the HiCap maybe 20 or so. Speakers are Linn Kan of a similar age. Im going to add the Naim CD5si soon. The system produces a very nice sound and perfectly good enough. My question is: Is there anything to be gained by changing anything? Whilst the sound is great, I see NAP200's second hand for...

My system currently consists of a Naum CDX2.2 with XPS.2, Supernait 2 with HicapDR into PMC24 loudspeakers. I am really satisfied with overall sound quality, depth, definition and musicality. I am thinking of getting the XPS.2 DR'd by sending it back to Naim at a cost of just over £1000. Will the upgrade be sensible and do any of you know what the differences sonically will be. I have the option at present to do this upgrade so would appreciate your comments, particularly from any CDX2/XPS...

Evening all. Just looking for some advice on cabling. Anyone ever joined a couple of A5 cables? If so, what method, and did it affect the sound quality at all? I'm in the middle of a remodel and need about 25 to 30ft of cable run. There are a few pre-owned options out there which would help me keep the cost down, but none that length unless I join them! Secondly. Has anyone ever run their A5 (or similar) into the back of a base board (skirting board) via a male/female connector so they could...

New to Naim,...advanced apologies... Have 200/202 power/pre, the pre powered by 200 & a Napsc. Just bought a Flatcap xs and now curious if both the Flatcap xs and Napsc should/could still be connected simultaneously...I ask because Naim sent me a diagram of a 200/202/Hicap/Napsc stating Hicap & Flatcap are interchangeable.....which begs the question, what purpose is each doing? And what cables should I be using? Be grateful for useful advice... P.S. Flatcap xs v Hicap? Opinions?

Just got my SN2 powered up. I connected the wrong input from nDAC and started to play. Didn't hear anything so I changed between inputs and hit the AV. Music came out on full volume for a 2-3 seconds. Changed inputs and started over. Could there be any damage except my ears?
