I'm currently using a 62/HiCap/140 combination with Linn Keilidhs and have the opportunity to change the speakers to either of the above. What are anybody's thoughts on these two speakers?

Hello there - Attempting ti use the collective brain power of the forum for a spot of troubleshooting. I have a SN2. I have a REGA RP 10 TT. I have a Superline phono stage. I have a HiCap power supply. When the HiCap powers the phono stage, there is a fairly substantial hum heard through the system. When I lay my hand on either the TT arm, the Superline or the HiCap, the hum dissipates for the most part (although it's still there ever so slightly). This would suggest to me a grounding issue,...

Connecting my Hugo to a 122x via rca I've found the cd input to sound different (better - cleaner, louder) than the aux2 input. Is this a burn in issue or a reflection of the pre amp design? I have my cd5x connected via din to the cd input as well.

I have had these now for two years running them with a Nait xs amp and a CD5xs in a room 20ft long, 10ft wide, listening across the width. I have tried them in various positions, currently six feet apart, 5 inches from the wall on wooden stands themselves on a marble slab. I don't use the spikes. What I find is that after say 2 hours listening to them I want to stop, I get tired of using them, it becomes a chore, there is little enjoyment of the sound. When I first had them they sounded...

Hi all, Are there any NAIM users living in Japan out there? I'm a Brit in Tokyo and looking at buying one of the NAIM amps, but had some anxiety that there would be some problem with the amp being powered on Japanese 100V power. I understand they can be set to 110V - can you buy them in this state, and would there be any issue? I understand both the device and the outlet can vary +/- 10% either side. There's no dealer out here so I'd likely have to buy myself in the UK next time I'm back or...

Hello all. New guy here. I'm not new to audio but am completely new to Naim. I recently downsized and simplified my system from a Bryston 4b sst2 amplifier/PrimaLuna Prologue 3 tube preamp combo to a Peachtree Nova150 (150wpc into 8ohm) integrated. Quite a change indeed but one I've come to enjoy. The Stones are blasting away as we speak :) Speakers are Energy Veritas 2.2i's which are a 3 way bass reflex, rear vent design standmount. They are 8ohm nominal but can drop down to 4 and are...

I was checking the torque on the mid/bass driver today and noticed that the tweeter on one speaker was not occillating back on forth as it should. On further investigation it turned out to be the mid/bass driver speaker cable was touching the frame that holds the tweeter. Pulling the mid/bass speaker plugs out slightly freed the frame and normal service was restored. Worth a look if your an SL2 owner.

apolgies in advance if this is a crazy question.. currently my sky hd box sits on top of the 250dr on top of two inch or so high plinths I made from some dense black foam in a desperate attempt to keep it away from the 250dr sound quality wise....is the sky hd box getting in the way? Reason I ask is because I unplugged it today and listenined and can't work out if I heard a difference if I'm honest

Been bitten by the Naim bug fairly badly and am already looking at another upgrade for my 250dr. Currently it is fed by my V1, some people I have spoken to share the view that the V1 is out weighed and not up to the job of feeding the 250dr properly and that a 282 would be excellent with it. What I would like opinions and comments on is if it's possible to feed the 282 by the V1 in fixed output just handling the conversion via the asynchronous USB and if it can, is this a good way of doing...

I have recently bought a 2nd hand SU (2013 model) from my local hifi shop. The SU had been back to Naim because the original LED display had failed. The guy in the shop told me that as well as fixing the display they had serviced the SU. I pressed him to find out exactly what that means but he didn't seem to know or want to tell me. The reason I ask is, the "black" Naim units require servicing every 12-15 years. I am wondering if the SU's servicing clock has been reset. Also does the SU...

As above. I haven't been able to source a pair of 135's and the missing on never turned up from the pair I did buy, so I just have a single 250 at present. What I would like to know is can the same effect be achieved by using 2 x 250's instead, and would I need 2 x Hi-caps? Thanks.

I have been reading here and elsewhere how people are returning their Hugo's after battery failure. It appears this is a major problem with them. I am only guessing that the problem may have been fixed in the Hugo2. Does anyone have any info on this? I am very glad I didn't rush out and get one when the hype about them was at it's peak here on the forum. Returning anything here in Australia is a nightmare, not to mention the enormous wait because of shipping.

Curious if anyone else has had the same issue with their Nait5i-2, I have already have this repaired once and it seems the same issue has occurred again a few yrs later. While the ipod/iphone jack is working, no other inputs are working so I cannot play music via the CD player. Last time around the repair was select switch circuits. Anyone else had these issues? Thanks! Brian

Hi I have been trough some home audition and based on cost and my liking Kudos Super 20's are on top. I have never heard Harbeth, but have read alot about them, therefor I have made an appointment and will be listening to SHL 5 + and M30.1 in 10 days. Audition demand 1000km driving by car. Will they perform very different from S20, is it worth the trip? Well, I know, only by doing the trip I will know, but still, if anyone have any experience or thoughts to share. Thanks, S

Quote from the blurb for Statement Amps on Naim Website: "The NAC S1 and NAP S1 share the same fundamental layout. The noisy power supply is housed in the base and sensitive electronics are nestled above. Each section is divided by an acrylic centre-piece that blocks interaction. " I'm not certain that this refers to power supply fields and their effects on signal electronics, but assume that's what is meant (?) if so, I'm wondering if we should we all be placing acrylic shelves or...

Hello, In what seems like a never ending search to upgrade my speakers the one that remains to be auditioned is the ATC SCM 19. I have heard, on here and elsewhere, that with a 250DR it's really good. Ultimately I want to add that power amp, but that upgrade is at least 18months away. In the mean time I don't want to be stuck with a set of speakers that couldn't be driven properly. I live in rural Cumbria and auditioning these will be an absolute pain. So any advice before I make a trip to...

Last year, I was two thirds down the road of completing the full loom Super Lumina, when Chord Music made it's appearance on the scene, and began receiving rave reviews from folks on here. I carried on with the final piece of the SL jigsaw, and was / am most happy with the outcome. However, my enterprising dealer has shipped me a Chord Music din / din interconnect, "just to see, Dave", and it's been in place for a couple of hours now. It's far too soon to come to any conclusions, but first...

Its official! The Mu-So will support any USB mass storage device as long as it's formatted to FAT32 and the partion table is MBR (Master Boot Record). Like FAT32, MBR is limited to a volume size of 2TB I moved all my music off the 2TB My Passport WD and partitioned from GPT to MBR, then again formatted it to FAT32 and now my drive works in the Mu-So.

After a mid-life (half-hearted) attempt at a de-boxing exercise I have ended up with a UnitiQute/NAP100 based system which was going fine until my Arcam multi-disk player died. Most of the CDs have been ripped to a NAS so not a complete crisis, but I'm now faced with a tricky choice. Do I just replace like with like or do I take the opportunity to "upgrade" to a full Uniti and do away with the external CD player - one of the main reasons I went with the Qute/100 option was the fact that I...

In my office system I am using my new Core with a Moon Audio 230 HAD which is fed into an old Sugden Optima integrated (I was using my old Nait 5 but have packed it away for now). I switch between headphones and speakers frequently. i picked up a used DAC V1 yesterday to see how it compares to the Moon. Both are similar devices; half width, pre-amp, DAC, headphone amps. One thing I really like about the Moon is the convenience of leaving my headphones plugged in while I listen through the...

Quick question on 202/200 NAPSC connection. I connected the NAPSC to upgrade1 and using a 4-PIN to connect 200 power amp to "standard. I have no link plug. So left "Output &PSU" and 'Upgrade 2" as is. After turning it on, the mute button keep flashing. Can someone please tell me what's wrong ? Do I need a link plug or something ?, which I do not have many thanks in advance.
