Hi all - i may have the opportunity to obtain a pair of Guru QM60s to go with my 272 / 250 DR. They will be replacing a pair of Focal 926s. i already have a pair of QM10Twos in a smaller room powered by Dacv1 and NAP100 so I am familiar with the sound signature and how different it would be to the Focals (less sparkle, but richer midrange, etc). I love them a lot but they don't fill my living room as well as the Focal's. But have not ever heard the Gurus floorstanders and the seller doesn't...

I've always lusted after a pair of NBL's but never had the chance to own them whilst I had a CDS2 XPS, 82 super cap, 250, I have since reduced box count and have a SuperNait2 and have now seen a couple of pairs of NBL's with in reach, question is am I under amp' d now or do you think the SN could just about do them justice? Bought my Supernait from a local dealer several years ago at a "demo" rate. The Product Manual has installation instructions but very little in the way of specifications. I can't seem to get any spec info on the Naim support page as the product is no longer sold and they don't seem to provide much support for legacy products. Good evening all! Hoping to change amps within a month or so. Before Xmas I had a brief demo of the XS2 and SN2, I ultimately liked the drive of the SN2 and also very much liked the slight richness of the XS2. My mind was made up to go for a SN2. I have been reading quite a few interesting posts about chord products recently. I'm not too sure if I understand everything correctly about taps and infinite filters but something I would like to explore is about these cd transports. What would be the advantage (if any) of using a chord BLU instead of a cdx2 to act as a transport into the NDS or the ndac? Has anyone used both or done a comparison?

I am trying to add a DC1 to a NDX >NDAC/XPS2 setup 202/200. Cam someone please tell me the most optimal digital connection I can get is thru which type of DC1 ? BNC to RCA ? Thanks in advance.

greetings, long time Naim owner, first time posting... i bought a used SuperNait 2 and love it. This week got a barely used HiCap DR. Before I add it into my system and power it up, I want to make sure I am connecting it correctly. I have seen some diagrams but as usual with Naim manuals, really not sure what is correct. Has anyone regretted making the move to NAP 300DR from the standard NAP 300? My 300 is due a service and I'm trying to decide between a straight service, a service plus DR upgrade or just swapping the unit out. Any experiences most welcome. Thanks in advance. Steve O.

My 2 Powerlines have been plugged into the 272 and 250 DR in my main room, with kettle leads for my other 2 systems. I had not thought of plugging into my other two cheaper systems, but decided one Sat afternoon to try it out. So: Room 1 UQ2 = The famous UQ bounce got solid, and worked magic with the Neat SX2, which while very capable in my master bedroom can have a tendency to sound a bit dry and woody. Tick!! My Nait2 is not employed full-time in the living room or the office because both of those systems are in good balance. I'm trying to find a permanent home for it and thinking about creating a bedroom system with it. I have some extra NAC A5 fortunately. I also have an old pair of Dynaudio Audience 40s but they are sounding worn out. It would help the chances of the Nait2 being able to permanently remain in the bedroom if it had some speakers that were more aesthetically pleasing to my wife.

Anyone using or heard the Transfiguration Proteus phono cartridge? I listened to the Orpheus L a few years back and thought it was the best cartridge i'd ever heard... lush, big, textural sound from what I recall.

Hello, My name is Carlo a happy Naim owner since 2005. I started with the cd 5i adding nait 5 i (italic) a few years later with a pair of Sonus faber concertino Home. I changed speakers to Sonus faber Auditor M and changed to Nait XS. I am pretty happy with my current set up. I am also a proud owner of a 800 orignal cds. I have an opportunity to get a S/H DAC V1 (3 years old / half of the retail price) to start listening Flac files from a laptop. I am totally new in this sort of music...

I´ve just bought a XS an I hope arrives tomorrow. My present amplifier is a Brio R. Anybody who has listen both? What are the diferences I´m giong to find ? I´m quiet happy with the Brio but what I have read about XS made me buy it. what I´m looking for is more texture, more full body sound and more present treble but but I would like no to past to the harsh line and been as enjoyable as the Brio.

I have been a naim amplifier owner since 1984 and speaker since 1999. I have been a keen follower of the naim sound, I feel it is one of the very few hi end brands that do not sound clinical but keep music at the fore front of the reproduction. I think their equipment is the closest to live music I have ever heard. I have stuck with Lavender and naca5 througout this period because every time I try hi end cables (which has been many, including the super exotic)I have left underwhelmed, sure...

I have the opportunity to buy a 250DR against the trade in of my NAP200. I know there has been a lot of discussion on the merits of the 250DR and I would like to hear the current opinion from those who have been in my position on the upgrade to the 250DR. I have a N272, XPS DR as well. In a nut shell is it a worth while upgrade?

Morning all Sorry to sound a thickie, but the other day we had a massive power cut in our part of Saarf Lundun. I switched everything off and have just switched everything back on. Tape deck, Lingo, CD player, tuner all work fine. However beither the Hi-Cap or 180 work. No power. Before I start dismantling and unscrewing cases, does this just mean that some internal fuses have gone? And that I can do this myself? Thanks, K

I decided to haul the whole of my hi fi system to my brothers home to demonstrate the value of a good hi fi system. He lives in a relatively small bungalow. Setting everything up and anxious to wow him with my system I started the first track "paul weller Out of the sinking". This track has always been a favourite to play for friends listening to my system at home. In a word my system sounded "DULL" It was as if someone has sucked the life out of the track , closed in with little soundstage...
