I was looking at Naim's price list (April 2015 from Tom Tom Audio and January 2017 from Signals) and noticed that the price of the NAC 282 has dropped while all other gear register an increase in pricing. Tom Tom Audio's April 2015 price list shows a retail price of £4,395 for the NAC 282. The Napsc is mentioned to be included with the NAC 282. Signals' January 2017 price list shows a retail price of £4,129 for the NAC 282. The Napsc is not mentioned. Would appreciate if someone can advise...

Hi We have just purchased a Urika for our lp12. This has left us with a free shelf where the phono stage was. I was going to put the melco into the Fraim however the chord Ethernet cables won't fit because of the rear leg of Fraim. The option I have is to change around the stacking order and locate the melco on a top shelf. I currently have the 282 on a top shelf however this will have to move down a shelf because the Lp12 takes the other top shelf. Suggested stacking would be lp12 Melco 282...

Hi, Does anyone have expereince of YG Acoustic speakers, preferably in a Naim context. I have heard their Carmel 2 speakers on a couple of occasions and have been impressed. Ver good initial impression of their sound, sealed bass and great measurements are attractive. Metal speaker cones makes me hesitant. Best regards Hans

Bought a 5m Non-surge/non-filter power strip from Maplins. Cheap job. My XS2 and my Innuos Zenith sound much nicer when plugged into the strip than the mains socket. It's more fluid, more natural, silkier. Less jumping out of the mix, more together. Yet there are micro details and transiets coming through I have never heard before. I lose no clarity either? Plug direct and it feels overblown/more digital/bright. Anyone explain this?

Hi, After ordering my 282 to replace the 202 I am wondering if my stacking order at present will still be suitable when the 282 arrives. ndx 202 200 xps dr hicap dr over to the right hand side. napsc a little bit away. should I just swap out the 202 for the 282 or is there a better setup.? cheers.

I am using a Naim 202/200 combination with a Third Party PSU. My source is a Bluesound Node 2 through a Chord Mojo, my speakers are Dynaudio Focus 160s. It sounds balanced and the recent addition of the Mojo has given it something special. However, I don't want to stand still and am looking at the next move. I am expecting a range of suggestions but the next due change, based on the fact that it's the oldest unit, is the NAP200. I have read comments that the Classic NAPs are voiced...

Hi everyone, Basic question. Are all the line inputs on an olive nac 62 basically the same? Always hearing it's better to put the CD player through the tuner input but thought this applied to the 32.5 and 72 which are differently configured. Using the aux for the CD 2 at the moment and don't think there's any difference from the tuner input, Many thanks, Sister xx

I am wondering if the 66's are a good match with Naim olive gear. A minty pair has come up for sale, and I would be running them on the end of a 72/Hi/140. I understand that room interaction is of paramount importance. I am interested in comments about how these speakers compare , in general, to newer designs. What are their strong points and weak points? Thanks, BB

......in as much I very rarely compare a recording on vinyl and CD more just accept that both are excellent at what they do and there is little point. Also as a general rule earlier fully analogue recordings - jazz and 60/70s rock titles tend to be on vinyl and more recent stuff and classical are on CD. However, Interestingly the first 3 recordings that I purchased on CD on the day I bought my first CDP - Arcam Alpha late '91 - were the Famous Blue Raincoat by Jennifer Warnes, The Nightfly...

Dropped into a hi if dealer in Trier (Germany) this afternoon just for the hell of it (well...that was what i said to Mrs JF Lux when we happened to "stumble across it..."), Main reason is to start looking for a new front-end streamer/renderer and possibly new speakers, Anyway...the dealer (a one-man show in a lovely shop/building/house) put on an AURALiC Aries through a Unison Research integrated (valve) with Odeon Midas speakers. Played a couple of tracks I am used to via Qobuz streaming...

Hi Running 272/250dr/proacd40r for a year or so, love the sound but the only complaint is that I still dont get the the lower end bass that like unless I crank it up. Have tried optimal speaker placement in a 6 x 8 m L shaped room . Speakers fire along the 6 m. I Am considering a sub woofer and would like to know if i use an active sub on a 272. And do I use the line out or preamp out and if anyone has experiences with any good pairings! I know some people would consider the sub heretical...

Is it just me or does anyone still own a pair of these super rare speakers? I just came across some Wharfedale Program 30D.6 200w speakers for £8 with a free 300w Wharfedale amp for them in a warehouse! Might buy them not sure yet.

I just found a photo of a gorgeous little mini-mini system for headphones from a company called iFi . Crickey it's nifty little stuff, similar to the Hugo kinda.

Hi. Anyone knows where I can buy Fraim's cups and balls? Thanks!

The next DAC I buy will have balanced XLR outputs. What hardware do I need to buy to go from balanced XLR to the RCA or DIN input of my SN2?

Hi All, I have just read a glowing review of the amp with test lab results which paint a very good picture of this amp. I can't figure out how to upload it here so the best I can do is tell you I found it at pressreader.com under the heading Naim 250DR Review. It appears to be a website which collects articles from magazines and puts them in their own site. The original appears to come from Australian HiFi 1st Jan 2017. It is chock full of tests with plenty of info about loads, damping...

System, NAC 102 (recapped 11/2015) NAP 108, NACD 3.5, Rega Planar 3 RB300 tone arm and Rega Exact 2 cartridge, Spender S8e speakers. Hi all. After a bit of a point in the right direction please. My NAC 102 has NA 522/4 phono boards fitted, which I use for my TT, the boards are stamped 99, which I assume is the year they where manufactured? My question is, would I gain much from replacing the phono boards for new ones, as the ones fitted are getting old now, or would I be better off looking...

Replacing my Chord interconnect with a Transparent cable (Red Dawn) was a bad move introducing brightness as well as affecting the timing and flow of the music. Luckily I kept the Chord which went back to work. Years ago I switched from a Sansui 517 tuner to a much better looking Luxman T-450. The results were mixed, ending up with a warmer sound though less transparent. The Sansui superior reception was dearly missed when we moved 45 miles away from the city.

Just tried the Kudos S20 with my 500 series system and really understood two things: 1. They are fabulous speakers. Phenomenally good. 2. They are NOT fit to my system. The 500 amp combined with the 552 is just too much (power) for them. "don't shout at me!!!" It was supposed to be very exciting but for me it was just annoying, however they are extremely capable of speakers. I loved the Kudos, make no mistake, but they have been handled and gripped like the amp was quite drunk. You can feed...

This stereo bug is a terrible disease. My system consists of Naim nac 272 for streaming Tidal, Naim xps dr power supply, Focal Sopra 3 speakers, and Naim nap 250 dr amp. It's really nice, BUT I'm considering trading up to the nap 300dr amp. I listen to music 95% of the time at low volume in a 25 x 25 foot room. Am I throwing away money or it it worth it. The objective is to get a little more fullness in the music at lower volume, sorta like turning on the old loudness switch on my Kenwood...

I've had Naim gear (90/92/CD5X/Flatcap) for many years but have gone through a huge upgrade path over the last 18 months or so to the following :- CDX2/XPS/250/282/HC, all non DR. I also have a Little Pink Thing turntable (remember those?) with Tabriz arm and Corus Blue cartridge and a pair of Dali Rubikon 6 speakers, fed by Naim cable. I'd say 98% of what I listen to is Rock and Metal so I wanted this system to kick out some real oomph which indeed it does. I specifically bought the Dalis...

I have joined the Naim club recently. I have the SN1 integrated amp and I use the Chord Mojo as a standalone DAC as I find it superior to the SN1's built in DAC. However, the trouble with the Mojo is that it only has 3.5mm line level output, which forces the use of an adapter or a specialised cable (3.5mm to 2 RCA or 3.5mm to DIN). At present I am using the Audioquest 3.5mm to 2 RCA hard mini splitter which allows me to use any RCA interconnect .My cable at the moment is the Chord Epic...

Have we posted on the possible use of lead sheets, say 1 or 2mm, for electromagnetic (RFI) isolation/shield as well as mechanical absorbtion under pre and sources and/or on top of PSUs? Has anybody tried this with positive results? I could not find anything with the Advance Search. Chag -
